What's the best way to send money to people in Poland? Other than bank transfer, Western Union and Moneygram.

One can wire money bank to bank or use Western Union or Moneygram.
Many Poles do not have bank accounts. I understand Western Union money transfers have to be collected at WU offices, and in smaller towns and rural area those are few and far between. Personally, I feel Moneygram is best. The recipient collects the money at his nearest post office and there's quite a few of those. Any other suggestions?

I think with Ria you can cash out at an ATM but you need to check that.

There are some quite big, wire services dealing with specific PolAM markets - especially Chicago, Toronto and Jersey - that have deals with supermarkets in East Poland. Can't remember the names of any of them but google would help you.

With Western Union you have to go to one of their offices -- that might be in the nearest bigger town 20 or 50 km away and a problem for an elderly person.

What if they do not have a bank account? And even if they do, many people are afraid of divulging their account no. Once you let something out on the web you never knows where it'll end up.

You have every reason to be concerned when it comes to internet transfers.
On transfer wise you have a choice of using your debit card to make the transfer and choose the recipient to
send bank details through e-mail if they want their details to remain private. When the recipient gets the e-mail
their bank account is not exposed on the website. On your profile you have the option of deleting
recipients and their details after the transfer is completed.
I had always been skeptical of such companies but after being ripped off many times
by my bank for my transfers, I decided to give Poland transfer a go.
What I like, above all else, is that I can always speak to a real person in their offices when I have a problem
and they can call you back ,as well- if you request to.
On my average transactions I am now saving more than 150zl in transfer and exchange fees per transaction.

I've used transfer wise and it was ok however I changed to WorldFirst which gives a better deal and is easier to use.

The point is that MoneyGram requires no payment (credit or debit) cards and no bank account. Your data is not on the net. The payer just emails you the code number of the transaction which you take to any Polish post office and collect the cash.

And what about the fees? Just do a comparison, with say 10 000zl to the UK, using the cost
estimator on both websites and look at the difference. When using moneygram, get one number or letter of the code to
the recipient wrong, or worst still misspell the recipient's name by a single letter, miss out their middle name- then you
will wish you had never used moneygram.

A pyramid scheme rather like 'Transfer or 'Amway''. Anyone using that link gets a page saying in large letters "Bartosz Majewski invites" and this Majewski person gets something from it. The same page also says "first transfer free" which is another warning sign.

Better to use World First, who don't pay people for hooking in customers and also don't charge for transfers. They're also easy and quick to use, and offer a good conversion rate (and no, I don't get a penny for recommending them!)

I use Doma and Polamer (especially Doma) for packages but I know they do money transfer as well.

Another option is to give a person a paypal mastercard which you can load from your paypal/bank account. Much more confidential especially for larger sums and there's no fees.
