The annual national pilgtrimage in Poland - all roads lead to Częstochowa

Polish TV news bulletins these days are presenting glimpses of the annual national pilgtrimage as the Feast of the Assumption of the BVM approaches. Parish groups all over the country, scout troops, police contingents, army detachments, school children and uni students, sportsmen and others like tiny rivulets trickle towards increasingly larger streams of pilgrims which in turn merge to form of mightly river of Catholic Poles headed for Jasna Góra Monastery, the country's most sacred religious shrine. TVP INFO has reported that young people account for some 80% of the pilgrims. There are young marrieds pushing prams, invalids in wheelchairs beign wheeled by loved ones and foreign contingents from such countries as Italy, Slovakia, France and Germany. The pilgrims bring their intentions or come to thank God for graces and answered prayers. A sense of spiritual fulfilment envelopes the foot-sore and road-weary pilgrims as they near their destination. It can truly be called Catholic Poland on the March -- an uplifting sight to behold for anyone in whom there beats a Polish heart.

When will you translate that Polish heart into a Polish passport?

mightly river of Catholic Poles headed for Jasna Góra Monastery,

Funny how you don't give any numbers for this river. Isn't the truth that the numbers of people going to Father Maybach's fund raiser last year was less than 20% of the number who went just seven years previously? Poles are getting wise to that shyster and his lies.

TVP INFO has reported that young people account for some 80% of the pilgrims.

Got a link to that? Not that we don't want to take your word, but you do have a fairly extensive track record for lying.

It can truly be called Catholic Poland on the March

Poland would most certainly be a better place if the idiots on their way to give Father Maybach yet more money were the only Catholics in the country.

No, those who know that you lie so often here don't trust a word you say.

I take it from your refusal to provide a link and the way that as usual you just resort to insults that we can safely file your claim about 80% of the pilgrims being young away with your statements about what Masonic Grandmasters say and about the EU forcing microchips into babies.

One would assume that after so many years of living in Poland you could have easily find those links yourself. If seeing is believing, YouTube might be a good place to start, all that is required of you is a rudimentary knowledge of Polish, there's no need for insults or empty accusations.

It's rather hard to find something which doesn't exist.
I did have a look at a couple of TVN pages: there's no mention of 80% of the pilgrims being anything. Why might that be?

Why might that be?

Secular perspective perhaps, check the videos, seeing is believing.

It's not an interesting story, my friends complained about huge traffic jams which the pilgrims cause while leaving Warsaw.

That assumes Polonius isn't actually lying as per usual.

If Polonius claims something and doesn't provide a link, it's normally lies.

Evidence?
You forgot to mention that links are often dismissed by you if they do not reflect your distorted PC biases.

Surely it can't be that hard to produce one single link proving that claim from any credible media source with clear ownership structures?

All roads lead to Częstochowa

Actually they all lead away from Czestochowa, it's just that some people aren't smart enough to walk in the right direction.

I wonder why this short text by Polonius which is basically based on real life and doesn`t contain any lies can infuriate some posters so much. :):):):)

What the heck?
People, relax. What are you trying to prove?

What are you trying to prove

The Fearsome Foursome are a band of hopelessly embittered Christophobes blinded by their seething hatred of Catholic Poland, Christianity, believers and all that is good and decent. Their only faith are the cockeyed prejudices, biases and sacred cows of PC (Poltical Creepiness).

Because you haven`t got a Polish heart.

I do hope that Polish heart is not determined by believing that we can get cured at Jasna Gora.. That would be such a giant step backwards.

Many people believed and got cured. If you prefer to not ascribe it to anything supernatural, at least read sth about the self-healing power of human mind.

How can they be so biased after spending so much time in Poland? Why haven`t they assimilated and adopted the Polish way of life??? I don`t get it..... :):):):)

believing that we can get cured at Jasna Gora

But people have obtained medically unexplainable cures at Jasna Góra, Lourdes, Fatima and other Catholic shrines. Not everyone, it's not automatic. But then neither is medical treatment guaranteed to cure everyone. Faith can move mountains. Remember: for God nothing is impossible!

if you believe that your God will cure you because you went to a hill and gave some offerings, then by all means, travel on. Doing it on your knees helps, they say.

But there is a part of the country, with hearts just as Polish, that is trying to dig itself out of centuries of omens, miracles and superstitions.

if you believe that your God will cure you because you went to a hill and gave some offerings, then by all means, travel on.

Sorry, you mixed the order of events. First you go to a hill, are cured and only then you give material offerings. That`s how I was taught at religion classes.

Of course, before that all, you should give spiritual offerings but I suppose you know nothing about it. :):)
But offerings are far more than simply the check we write on Sunday. We are to offer much more to God than our monetary resources. Romans 12:1 exhorts us to offer our bodies "as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God" as part of our worship. Romans 6:13 gives the reason for offering ourselves: because we are "those who have been brought from death to life" and, as such, we are to "offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness." God is not nearly as interested in our monetary offerings as He is our submission and obedience. The truth is that He doesn't need our resources to accomplish His plans and purposes. After all, He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and needs nothing from us. What He desires, however, and what He values, is the heart that overflows with gratitude and thanksgiving to the God who saved us and who gives us all things, knowing our needs before we even ask (Matthew 6:8). Such a heart gives generously, willingly, and cheerfully in response to the love and grace that abounds in Christ (2 Corinthians 9:6-8).

if you believe that your God will cure you

But if leading medical researchers cannot find natural explanations for certain cures, do you regard yourself as more itnelligent than they and have your own private, superior explanation. In canonisations and beatifications, not one but an entire consilum of physicians incluidng atheist ones are required to pronounce that there is no medcial explanation for certain cures.

In Lourdes there are rooms full of crutches, sticks, wheelchairs, walkers, etc. left behind by generations of pilgrims who have been cured. Were they all hoaxters or ill psychosomatically in your view?
