Air shows in Poland are annoying

Every summer Tri-City has at least 3 Air shows. It's been going on now for two evenings. Over people's homes in the city centre. Not at the airport. The noise from their fun is unbearable.

I swear if I had the capability I would shoot the fukkers down.
Holiday fun or bang out of order? I'm 100 percent with the second opinion. The Town Hall will have a visit from me and angry dog on Monday to deposit letter of protest.

Buahaha, I'm sure they are scared already.

It always surprised me people live in cities and rhen complain about the noise of public events. Want peace and quiet- move to the country site.

the noise of public events.

I wouldn't mind if they spent the money on infrastructure. The pavements are a joke.

I'm sure they are scared already.

I blame the local population. They put up with this shite without a murmur.

We know from Ramstein and Shoreham disasters (not to mention the Ukraine Air show disaster) that Air shows shouldn't be taking place over cities.

Nobody told the Poles.
With Poland's history of pilot error killing presidents you would think they had learnt their lesson.

Or maybe they are not professional complainers like you and maybe even enjoy the show?

You said yourself it's few times a year and I'm sure they finish at sensible hour. Chill out

You are the Poster Boy of why Europeans should not be allowed to personally own guns.
Did you think about taking your mutt and go away camping for the week end someplace quiet ?

- move to the country site.

That doesn't even work Lenka.
These people still b!tch to b!tch.
I have a neighbor with lots of old farm implements and equipment that sit out in front of his house by the road.
It was there when I moved in out here and now a new neighbor like Doug moved in and wanted me to sign a petition to have my other neighbor clean up his place of his old farm equipment. (the old Polish man has lived here all his life)

Told him that he should have considered that BEFORE he bought his place out here in heaven.
Told him that I liked the stuff sitting out there because it keeps the taxes low out here and the suits from moving in.
Then what really got jerk stammering was when I told him that if I did sign his petition that no doubt he would start another petition against me for shooting my guns out back on my property anytime I wanted to.

The look on his face was priceless.

Lol - we tried!! Me and the wife were on the way to the campsite yesterday but she cried off through heavy rain:):)

Nah. When I play my music loud and somebody asks me turn it down, I do so (or use headphones). Never impose on others. Through noise, primarily.

Todays' plane miracle aborted take off and landing outside Moscow tells us that planes and cities don't mix. Aircraft shows are now banned from UK towns and cities. I would hate to have to say "Told you so..".

Safety is a different matter. But since we let other planes and helicopters fly over cities I'm not sure if banning just air shows would increase safety that much.

And lets be honest- you would love nothing more than to tell us 'I told you so'

heavy rain

Then the airshow should have been cancelled OR you could have spoiled your wife with a nice hotel room with dinner, a spa and massage elsewhere.

Treated her to another honeymoon and reminded her just what a great guy you are.

That Poland never learns from history or life experience.

And Doug is phisically incapable of being content and happy.

And are you also advocating banning helicopters and other planes from flying above the cities?

you also advocating banning

..airshows?
Abso-bloody-lutely.
You live in the UK I understand. They are banned there over centres of population for a very good reason. 10 dead people.

No way! Airshows are great and matter of fact were having our 61st annual show this weekend.

chicago.gov/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/chicago_air_and_watershow.html

This has become a summertime tradition not only in Chicago, but in the Midwest. Ill be going tomorrow, over 2Mil ppl will turn out. They do fly over the city, but mostly over the Lake.

The Blue Angles and The Royal Air Force Red Arrows will be the finale:)

Show is presented by the City of Chicago and is the largest free show of its kind in the USA

Many Polish ppl will be there too:)

The noise from their fun is unbearable.

Well, cities are generally noisy places, so it is not a problem.

planes and cities don't mix. Aircraft shows are now banned from UK towns and cities. I would hate to have to say "Told you so..".

That is indeed a problem. Sometimes the planes fly almost over people`s heads.
A few years ago, after the show finished. a small overloaded plane crashed in Krakow, the pilot died, luckily he hit the trees.

Perhaps, Doug is correct if untrained pilots are flying too low it becomes very dangerous to the spectators.

It appears that they use old junky planes also.

Polish pilots have a horrible reputation around the world as well.

Wasnt there a mig crash some years back during a polish air show?

Every year theres one in chicago i make sure to go every year. To me theres few things better than being on the beach and swimming with my girl having a few drinks and vaping some oil just chilling. There was a deadly crash though like 3 4 years ago but i didnt see it go down.

Personally i think the entertainment is worth it compared to the relatively small rate of crashes.

Polish pilots have a horrible reputation around the world as well.

In terms of modern military yes. Commercially no. Lot actually has one of the best safety records.

The Town Hall will have a visit from me and angry dog on Monday to deposit letter of protest

And im sure theyll cancel it just for you. Idk why youd even waste your time.

No, most of those planes are designed for air acrobatics and are very well maintained for obvious reasons.

Polish pilots have a horrible reputation around the world as well.

Really? I didn`t know about it.

yes, there was one - but it wasn't a MiG of Polish Air Forces (it was Belarusian if I recall correctly)

edit: I googled it - it was a Belarusian Su-27 - both crew memebers died - there were no casualties among the spectators - the year was 2009 (Radom Air Show)

Yup that was it. I love air shows and military parades. Its too bad that we dont have ones in the us. Soon as trump wanted to have a military parade they compares him to kim jong un. Idk why he doesnt use his powers as commander in chief more often

Lot actually has one of the best safety records.

Ill be flying on LOT again in just a few weeks time.:)

are very well maintained for obvious reasons.

Im just kidding, they arent as reckless as Randy Rhodes flying around only feet above the ground:(
