Beuty is skin deep
There is no excuse for it i mean how much does it cost to buy deodrant - or even wash your armpits?
OOHHH that is sooooo true there is this guy who is friends with my bf and his family and he is a skinny little short man but oooooooo lord does he smell of OB , the stench of 100 unflushed clogged toilets smell better. He does not believe in deoderant , he believes in perfume. But not even a power hose and all a soao in the world can erase that stench. And the worst part is when you go near the couch or somethin in the house 5 hrs after he left the house it stinks of his OB . And summer forget it sit up wind of him unless you like to pass out .
Yes and he also doesn't believe in using toilet paper.
I have a similar problem... and a similar question. Why do many British think that I'm German?
I'm Polish and don't really like when that happens.
Then, second guess is that I'm Scandinavian, which I don't mind, but it's not correct either!

My experience is that Poles, particularly the men, are usually tall, compared even with English or Irish, and are almost always fair-haired and blue-eyed with a normally rosy complexion. Moreso than Germans or Scandinavian, Poles tend to have charactaristically broad faces with high cheekbones and a slight Asiatic fold to even light eyes which can look strikingly handsome on both men and women!
This though is only the physical aspect. After a Pole has opened their mouth, the open, yet nasal, pronounciation of typically closed vowels in English, e.g. the 'o-sound' in "hello" or "no" is often a dead giveaway. The rhythm too is much different from Russian or German, closer in fact with Czech in the animated, chirpy quality to the speech.

Some Russian girl told me the other day i looked Asian....blimey..nobody ever told me that before....i am 100% white Yorkshireman....i think she had been on the vodka....?
From the physical appearance alone, I frequently confuse Poles with Ukrainians.
Czechs tend to look slightly more 'Germanic', particularly the square jaw and deep set eyes. This Asiatic-type fold I mentioned I've never seen among Czechs, incidentally!

Maybe you look German ;) Send us a picture and we could have a poll....
Many Poles can and often do look like North Germans: Tall, blond, light-eyed and fair-skinned. Some Polish women I observed have jet black hair with light-blue eyes and angular features, much like Germans and Swedes. I'm almost certain though that their hair is dyed, as I've yet to encounter a Pole with naturally occurring coarse black hair.
Kashubs in Germany do in fact have dark coarse hair. The famous German author Guenter Grass had such colored hair when he was a good deal younger. He takes pride in saying that at least one of his parents was not Aryan/Teutonic, but instead of Slavic origin, as with millions of his fellow countrymen-:)

He seemed to have forgotten about that as he joined the Waffen-SS...

How the hell could he even join if he was half Polish?

He...:)
Wahldo, noone ever even initmated Grass is "half-Polish", merely that he himself attributes his coarse brownish/black (now gray!!) hair and dark eyes to Kashubian forebearers-:) His facial features however, are clearly Germanic and not Slavic.
Now the Nazis, as we know, were oddly selective as to whom they deemed 'worthy' (diensttauglich) of joining the SS! So-called "Germanized Slavs", considered more Germanic than Slavic, WERE allowed in the SA. the SS, even the Einsatzgruppen, if they could evidence suitable 'pedigree' (eine artgleiche Ahnentafel).

Do I sense some hostility, Freddy?? I am 100% of Polish heritage. My head is not shaved. I hate backpacks. (Wow, what stupid comments, Freddy!)
Here are some facts:
I have two master's degrees (one of them from one of the top post graduate schools in the country) and a doctorate from the school ranked #6 in the U.S. I am tall, blonde, refined, slender and green-eyed. My skin is the clearest most beautiful porcelain. I have delicate features, and I have rosy lips, not to mention the hourglass figure and long, long legs! I would typically be more modest about my appearance, but Freddy the bigot elicits my true feelings on this matter of my heritage. I will share a secret with you. Poles are some of the most naturally beautiful people in the world, so I would take it as a huge compliment if I were you! :) My grandmother was one of the most most naturally beautiful women I have ever seen. She actually did have the raven black hair, clear blue eyes, and porcelain skin.
On the matter of intelligence: All of my nieces and nephews are of the same heritage. (They are all beautiful, as well: fair skinned, blue eyes, blonde hair.) They scored the highest scores on their SATs and went to top universities in the U.S. One is now a CIA agent, another a US embassador, and a third a very successful attorney. My brother is a colonel in the US Air Force. He is a rocket scientist, and is Director of Propulsion Labs at Wright Patterson AFB.
So, Freddy, it seems that you are the ignorant one.
I learned at a very early age to accept all nationalities into my heart, because God appears in this world in many forms. But if there is one thing that I cannot stand, it is a bigot like you, Freddy.

How about "Can I take your order... would you like chips with that?"
As for Gunter Grass: Grass didn't join the SS, he was attached to them. Different thing. Incidentally, there were Bosnian Muslim units in the Balkan SS groups.
I've yet to encounter a Pole with naturally occurring coarse black hair.
Depends where you look, Marek, but careful not to get arrested!

Well, don't forget that in past times people were "classified" as Polish/German/Polonised German/Germanicised Pole. The classifications were sometimes worked on language and religion' rather than 'ethnic features.
It's all a bit of a muddle, really.

When people tell me that I look Polish I take it as a compliment (I'm 1/2 Polish, 1/2 Russian and all American). Perhaps it's your refined manners that give away your Polishness?

It's dyed. Black hair was very much in style not too long ago, and so many women were walking around with jet black hair. Some looked so freaking sexy with it though...

Check, check, check, check, and check. Five out of 6 isn't bad. I am not tall, and unfortunately not blessed with the pointy chin.

Germanized Slavs", considered more Germanic than Slavic
the germans wish they where slavic, why do you think they whent to the czech republic, because they wanted to be calld slavs
Well, don't forget that in past times people were "classified" as Polish/German/Polonised German/Germanicised Pole. The classifications were sometimes worked on language and religion' rather than 'ethnic features.
It also worked on whether the communist goverment wanted people to stay to do the work in the fields/factories. There was a quote from one offical who had to sort through these designations about not wanting "German meat dressed in Polish gravy".
