not a literal translation, it basically means "watch out for the quiet ones".

Allison: ... I just want to know whether that steryotype is true for MOST poles or not.

Polish women in particular have been known to display violent, irrational temper tantrums. It is, for the most part, a by-product of frustrated ambition. Overshadowed by the superior stock of females to the east and confronted by the "high-quality" pool of available Polish gentlemen, Polish women are explosions waiting to happen. Be careful when in the vicinity of such outbursts.

This pathology is especially acute among the frustrated 26-38 year old Polish spinsters. In addition to the above-mentioned conditions, Polish spinsters in this demographic category also have to reckon with being also-rans relative to their younger counterparts. This accelerates the frustrated ambition quotient and incites numerous dramatic hissy fits.

LOL

PolishNutjob: Polish women in particular have been known to display violent, irrational temper tantrums.

Oh, really? :)
Have been known? By whom?
And in comparison to women of which nationality? Do they have more violent temper than Spanish women? Italian women? Russian woman? I believe not :)

PolishNutjob: It is, for the most part, a by-product of frustrated ambition.

Um, what? Elaborate, please :)

PolishNutjob: Overshadowed by the superior stock of females to the east

LOLI asked you before in another thread, but I think you didn't answer my question - what's your nationality? :)

PolishNutjob: and confronted by the "high-quality" pool of available Polish gentlemen,

What? ;D

PolishNutjob: Polish women are explosions waiting to happen. Be careful when in the vicinity of such outbursts.

Oooh, you weakling... :)))

PolishNutjob: This pathology is especially acute among the frustrated 26-38 year old Polish spinsters.

Oh, and why is that? :D

PolishNutjob: In addition to the above-mentioned conditions, Polish spinsters in this demographic category also have to reckon with being also-rans relative to their younger counterparts. This accelerates the frustrated ambition quotient and incites numerous dramatic hissy fits.

And, of course, there's no way that a 26-38 year old "spinster" from any country could have "dramatic hissy fits", be frustrated or something, only Polish women! :)

PolishNutJob, why do you hate Polish women so much? :) I've noticed in your other posts on this forum that you have something against Polish women :) Why is that?

Allison: Spaniards almost always have a bad temper and it has nothing to do with the generation. This is undeniable if you have ever seen any Spanish people.

Ive been to Spain more times than you've had hot dinners, being direct isnt necessarily the same as being bad tempered...they're pretty chilled out as it happens.

My Dad had a temper in certain situations for example he and my Mum were watching a young couple singing and playing guitar on the street in England, a town council bylaw officer came to move them off , My Dad told him to leave them alone and stuck the icecream cone that he was holding in the guys face. He hated people that used authority to bully others. It was quite common for him to call people ' Hitler' or ' Gestapo' Of couse as a child I used to think that it was hilarious.

My mother does not have a temper. At all. She is typical slow thinking observer. That's the reason I love her so much.

Allen, EVERYBODY'S got a temper-:) You mean "Do Polish people display their basic temper more often than other groups do?"

Well, the Irish, the Germans, the Greeks and the Italians might give (even) the 'tempermental' Poles a healthy run for their money!

I think it varies from person to person, some more than others.

Jeez you don't want to upset your Polish mother in Law. I did. Ooops! The destruction was almost total. Things you wouldn't dream of throwing get thrown. The British Battle Axe has nothing on a Polish Mother in Law. :)

I've heard that Polish people have been known to have a little bit of a temper.

Yes. I am glad the gun access is so restricted in Poland. Otherwise, I would get one and blow all those m....s who unnerve me, especially on the road. :):):):)

Some do, some don't. Those that sometimes do, sometimes don't and vice versa.

but never ever underestimate that guy viceversa, 'coz sometimes he does but actually he doesn't, he just pretends to do so, undoing all the pretentions in the process... in Poland he goes by the name Wicek...

Does everyone not has a temper, if provoked ad nauseam, and beyond the limits of endurance.

I have not met any saint, let alone an angel!

It depends why and when i think. I think people are angry because of rising costs of living, and yet wages are not going up. Working hours are longer too. So, people look sad, angry and find something to lash out about.

But this is the wonderful promised freedom from the market economy without constraint that many Poles seems to blindly believe. Maybe, with even more deregulations, less social protection, universal "umowy smieciowe" (trash working contracts), more aggressive management (and marketing), huge pressure on salaries with dumping threat, to get ridiculous retirement pension at the end, 24/7 alcohol stores almost everywhere to help, ETC. If with all of that it's still not getting better, it must be the fault of the Polish fate. Though, I've noticed many Poles strongly thinks they are better than their neighbor or working partner, when in fact, they are the same or even more mediocre.
