Do Polish People steal a lot?

And what do you think why? eh?

Germany was seen as the most advanced, most modern country at that time :)
We can't help it! ;)

(hidden money, golden tooths etc) taken from dead jews.

You mean a concentration camp commander? Of course...they tried to effective squeezing out the dead Jews as much as they could.

But you asked about the homes of said dead Jews, didn't you?

who you think would buy a vase if dont have a food?! Some nuts?

There are always people who have food to get a valuable vase/picture for cheap money or just a slice of bread.
Those times were high times for these peoples...

You really should study history more!

Also the Nazi commanders were stealing value art (paintings etc.)

Yeah...that happened.

But I doubt the majority of empty jewish homes in Poland were littered with valuable vases or paintings. The majority of Jews weren't exactly rich either...

I think it doesnt matter at all.

We can't help it! ;)

Watch out words you use before someone takes you for a neonazi... just my little advice.
You were advanced and rich because of part of my family being deported to be a slave labour... yeah, a pretty good point to be proud about.

But you asked about the homes of said dead Jews, didn't you?

said dead?

But I doubt the majority of empty jewish homes in Poland were littered with valuable vases or paintings. The majority of Jews weren't exactly rich either...

So if things weren't value... how someone would sell it? Maybe frying pans and rollers. But they are minor things... not really value.

I think it doesnt matter at all.

It matters when you believe german soldiers/officers had nothing better to do than storm polish/jewish huts to steal everything what wasn't nailed down.

This theory becomes much less acceptable if you know where these soldiers/officers came from.

Watch out words you use before someone takes you for a neonazi...

Being proud of my country means being a neo-nazi??? Okay...then I'm a neo-nazi! :)

You were advanced and rich because of part of my family being deported to be a slave labour...

Crap, the war was bad for Germany...a war is expensive and the bombings and all that stuff was not exactly furthering the development. The forced laborer where needed because most german men were busy at the fronts.

It was barely a substitute.
Both wars broke Germany's economy and advancement, not supporting it.

Germany began it's ascent to the most developed country in Europe and world wide already soon after the unification in 1871...totally without forced labourers!

Those soldiers were average humans and they not always were obeying rules. My grandma said that during hard times some of them were giving out food to Poles. So it seems they were able to steal from their own german granary...

I still believe the vast majority of Jewish property that was not valuable was taken by the people around the homes of the Jews that were taken away....

I am not blaming the Poles for doing this....in wartime you do whatever you must to survive...If you had a situation where the Asians for example in the UK were treated as the Jews were and dragged off to be killed , then it would not be long before my fellow countrymen helped themselves to anything worth having from their homes , its normal human greed , and in wartime its a matter of survival...

That was humour (smiley!)...and you should help yourself to a dose of wit!

No because of being proud from III Reich...

Quote me before you bring your doubtful theories.

Germany WAS the most advanced and developed country at that time. Not because of the Nazis but because of the Germans! :)

He was just stating a fact....The penalty for theft in the German army was pretty severe...and believe it or not looting was forbidden , at least to the ordainary German soldier...The ss were a law unto themselves , and were the only ones able to organise the mass looting of valuables from occupied countries....

A lack of transport was a problem for the German army all through the war , and there simply wasn,t the resources for the mass stealing of property by the normal army units....

And can we give up this childish belief that every German who in any way says something positive about Germany during the war years must be a Nazi...It makes about as much sense as saying every Pole is a communist...!

I got ripped off again at Polish construction supply center.

Well there's trash in every country, i'm ashamed to hear some Polish people do this. My Polish friend who live at the New Jersey shore said, alot of the Poles that come for summer jobs on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, Wildwood, Ocean City, Seaside Heights and elsewhere steal, walk around at night after work throw spark plugs or something else to break a window and steal GPSes, car radios, or go into a convenient store and take food, like while making hot dogs putting 3 in a bun and paying for one. They don't care because when summer's over they're going back home, us the Poles who have to live here get weird looks and the locals hating us because of euro trash like that. I actually would prefer if none of them came over for summer work anymore.

Hawww.. haww.. omg, are you serious?? Let me get this straight.. they actually told you about this? I'm sorry but that's hilarious. If I worked in a quick-e mart and saw that I'd be laughing too hard to even get mad.

Ironside, a Mod bumped this thread up last night, I was online when it happened!!
You know its a 4 year old thread and I wanted it buried a long time ago!
Ive asked them before to close/delete it and they wont do it??

Cant you see they want us to fight??

who bumped it up,,,Vincent??????

the "my threads" button doesnt create a post, so the Mods cant be trusted around here!

Perfect ending to the thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no reason why myself or any other mod would bump up a thread. In fact it would be impossible without us posting something in it.

the "my threads" button doesnt create a post, so the Mods cant be trusted around here!

That is correct the "my threads" button doesn't create a post". As SeanBM explained to you, If you click on "my threads" instead of "latest" in error (they are very close to each other) then you might think that one of your old threads is active again. Of course if you were to post a message in it to complain that a mod has bumped up your old thread, then you would make live again on the main forums.

Ironside, a Mod bumped this thread up last night, I was online when it happened!!

now i'm bumping the thread simply to tell you that the conversation you had on here yesterday was removed, which resulted in the thread dropping back down the list.

if u would like a thread to stay where it is (at the bottom of the page) then use the PM system, if u wish to query it.

u could also use a Feedback thread.

it is possible that someone made a post, which bumped the thread, and a few posts followed. then a mod might have moved the 'bumping post' for some reason. then after your post (yesterday ?) it would look like u bumped the thread.

Is this something that should be supported? Isn't that kinda counterproductive for a forum?

But i guess that's the little game some of the old folks in this Forum plays ;)

Once I was hungry, so I stole a chicken from the backyard, broke its neck and ate raw.

That was in deep depression times.

Please, Americans, forgive me that, because it was an American chicken.

lmao..... hahahahaha

I steal music, movies, and software from the internet, or that's what those greedy media corporatists call it, us commoners just call it sharing. :-)

I don't think Polish people generally steal a lot... I think it's more opportunistic theft or with the older generations just a lack of personal space. When we were building our home an old Polish lady would walk down the block with buckets and scoop up the fresh fill dirt we bought for our landscaping projects. I found it more funny than anything else.

Car theft was huge in Poland during the post Communist 90's - but that's a different story.

Polish people aren't like notorious pick pockets, shoplifters, or commit larceny, robberies, etc. in staggering numbers. The best thieves in Europe I would say are the gypsies (in terms of like pick-pockets, shoplifting, confidence trick, etc.) and the professionals being the Balkan (Serbian, Bosnian, Macedonian, some Albanian) guys who usually hit jewelry stores.

I'd say that by enlarge, most Polish people are very very law abiding and have a great moral compass. The vast majority do not participate in any criminal activities. There aren't a whole lot of famous Polish criminals compared to like Turks, Brits, Irish, Italian, etc. and the more famous ones lived in the US like the Ice Man Kuklinski, Jake Guzik, and were part of an Italian mafia - not a Polish one. There's very few Poles in gangs in Chicago and no ethnically Polish gangs that I know of - at least around here. There are some younger Polish guys that run scams or sell drugs - but again a small proportion of the overall hard working Poles.

I do hear that the UK is having quite an issue with some Polish criminals though. That horse meat scandal gave me a good laugh. Although from what I've seen most of the crimes that they committed ranged from drug dealing, football hooliganism, identity theft, and fraud. Don't really see too much involved in like armed robbery, home invasion, burglary, etc. Polish criminals in Europe tend to be more into production and distribution of marijuana, amphetamine, hooliganism, murder, online fraud, and back in the 90s a lot of car theft and hijacking.

If you make yourself an easy target, Polish people who are use to hard times and dealing with 'cwianiaczki' on a daily basis in their home country, will take advantage of you - this is where the opportunism comes in. I feel a lot of the immigrant Poles have found England to be full of these types. Also, identity theft is extremely easy to both commit and get away with in the UK. A lot of Poles have great programming skills and many have realized that instead of working for a pittance at IBM, they can make a lot more money from home.

This is true, but there are obviously a lot of exceptions. Central Warsaw doesn't lack pickpockets or beggars.

I do hear that the UK is having quite an issue with some Polish criminals though.

Mostly vehicle offences and things like bootleg vodka/cigs. Unfortunately there was a spate of Polish men advertising jobs back in Poland for women in UK care homes and when the women arrived they found themselves locked in brothels with their passports taken. The Poles have largely been muscled out of that by similar lowlife from south-east Europe.

I feel a lot of the immigrant Poles have found England to be full of these types.

Police in some parts of small town southern Poland have said that the local crime rate plummeted after EU entry. Basically all the local bandziory and smarkaczy had gone to Britain or Ireland.

Central Warsaw doesn't lack pickpockets or beggars.

That's true - especially near the train stations. I find the vast majority of the beggars and pickpockets around my city of Wroclaw tend to be the gypsy families (especially in the central square - poor kids are sent by their parents to beg for change instead of going to school) and a few older alcoholics. I don't really consider these people to be criminals - more bums than anything else. A real criminal does not beg for change or snatch purses - that's what gypsies, drug addicts and alcoholics do.

The Poles have largely been muscled out of that by similar lowlife from south-east Europe.

Yeah the Albanians tend to run the prostitution and brothels - at least in France. No one wants to work with the Albanians - not the Russians, Italians, Poles - no one. Poles will even work with the Columbians, and have on many occasions, but they don't want to work with the Albanians. Unfortunately, that does happen a quite frequently - jobs for waitresses, nursing homes, child care, etc. in the UK, France, Netherlands, etc. are advertised in Poland then once the girls get there they realize they're going to either be sold or pimped out. In the US, a good looking young girl with a connected pimp can easily make $5k to as much as $20k a week in a large city. The independent girls don't make as much but they can easily still make $2k+ a week.

ermans say (with no little justification) about Poles and stealing cars?!

In that very same sentence I wrote about car theft - car theft is common but not nearly as much as it was during the 90's. It's much harder to steal cars now because of all the high tech features and GPS's. Some of the more professional car thieves have purchased trailers that block the GDS's inside the car.

local crime rate plummeted after EU entry

In the small towns I'm sure. The drug trade certainly took off though in the larger cities. Poland now supplies Europe with most of it's amphetamines.

those guys were Welsh what are you talking about?

Yes but the 'beef' supposedly originated in Poland -

theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/oct/23/horsemeat-food-scandal-meat-trade

The parcel was supposed to be made up of 10 tonnes of boxed, frozen "Polish beef trimmings" of the sort being used to make cheap burgers for high-street discount ranges and fast food chains. Who had wrapped it where, with which layers and labels, would be crucial to establishing [...]
