Only hundred years back the different regional Germans learned only high-german with their entry to the schools, with 6 years...till then nearly unable to understand each other.

There are plenty of vowels in Polish - a, ą, e, ę, i, o, ó, u, y... not much spitting going on (unless you suffer from a speech impediment...).

I bet you can't avoid spitting while saying "Ich liebe dich" - come on!!! Try and say it without spitting on sb's face. Not something I would consider extremely romantic!!! :P

It's fine, thank you. My point is that diversity and differences in thought only add to the dialogue and general culture. The English Language is a perfect example of this. As is Jazz music. Or Polish food. They are all combinations of other cultures and tastes.

I have nothing against other cultures and tastes...that is all well and fine and of course they should all enrich each other. When they stay at home, that is!

History is a great example: Egypt was a great super power, Mesopotamia is called as the cradle of civilization, even the Ottoman Empire has it's going....

But the penguins (women in full body burkhas) in Neukölln do NOTHING of that sort, believe me!

Other cultures are great but they are great in the places they were created...

German language is extremely structured.They got their syntax from ancient Greeks.It is the same syntax.Anyway in german there is only one word for one meaning like in ancient greek while in english one word can have several meanings.

So german is much more difficult because you have to learn each specific word for each individual meaning(most complex words and derivatives) and the Germans do not help you with that very eagerly.

The Germans also do not teach their syntax because they take it for granted while even ancient Greeks understood the importance of teaching syntax.

I know what I write.You tend to undervalue syntax and teach grammar most of the time which leads foreigners to plenty of mistakes.Can you imagine a Turk trying to learn german while his language does not provide him any notion of some complex syntax?

I've said this before, I will choose not to colonize my mind and put people into boxes, areas, or ghettos.

In Jova's defense, German is a horribly guttural language. There is a reason Mozart avoided writing operas in German (he wrote on in Turkish, by the way, BB). Plus, if her avatar is to be believed she is far from a "Hackfresse."

come on. everyone knows how ugly german is. they talk like there's a problem with their throats. sometimes talk like "gkgkkkghh". israelis and arabs have the same ugly throat stuff. if you ask me best languages are turkish and greek. of course the speaker is very important, turks in germany talk turkish in very ugly way, because they are effected by german language, maybe it's why you think turkish is crap. polish and italian are nice too.

I think the slavic and latin languages sound the best also. They are so free flowing that it sounds like we are speaking a million words a minute to someone who doesn't speak Polish or Spanish.

they can't learn german or they don't learn? maybe they don't wish to learn really. maybe you guys treat them such badly that they don't want to hear german language anymore.(or maybe they don't want to hear because of it's too ugly:). and ask a linguist if you want then you can learn turkish is one of the hardest languages to learn. by the way yes you are right german should be talked with only horses please.

Well,let's see.Yes,Mozart had problem with german language and all composers had till Wagner because all the operas were written in italian at that time which was considered more delicate,had a long tradition in opera and was thought to be the only language suitable for this kind of music.

To distort this and tell that Mozart prefered the turkish language for aesthetic reasons is grotesque.After all do you know any opera work written to be sang in turkish?

Mozart simply saw some ottoman musicians playing a rhythm in the palace of Habsburg,liked the rhythm and wrote one composition,the turkish march.That's all.He did not play baglama or write cifteteli.
