Why Polish people are fat ?

People are fat because they eat too many carbohydrates and don't move around enough.

And there aren't fat people in europe? Ever been to UK? Back in poland in the prl days and even pre eu youd never see fat people. Same with tattood people only criminals had tattoos ans very crude ones at that. Now you see a lot of chubby girls and guys with beer bellies and even girls with tats which would be very very rare just a decade or two ago.

In the us its mainly the lower clases that are fat. They womt spend $5 on a small box of blueberries when they can get a big mac for the same price. If you go to the upper class suburbs you won't see any fat people. Even in the mornings people work out, ride their bikes or jog before they go to work.

What a stupid question of this thread. One should look on photos of skinny Poles in Nazi death camps. Sure, in better times, Poles tend to be fatty. Who don`t? But then we have sport activities... do we have sport activities in Poland?

Are there any fat posters here? I mean really fat, not just 10 pounds over normal fat. If so, I would love to know what was your internal dialog with yourself when you first noticed that your pants don't fit and the scale confirmed that it was you, not the pants. So, what is your excuse or a reason for being heavier than when you were 20?

There has to be something very appealing to being fat. On the down side, it is life shortening, repulsive both to the fat person and the person the fat person would like to have sex with, it's expensive to the fat person and the rest of us when the fat person gets sick, it's inconsiderate to the passengers sitting next to the fat person, being fat makes it harder to get dates and get married to a non-fat person, and on and on...

So, what is the payback for all that misery? Why would anyone want to be fat?

In old days, yes, feeding man was act of love. But also, in those early days, woman needed man desperately in order to survive (to care of her and children). So, she cared for man.

Surprised to see Finland up there. Stereotypes abound. It wont be long until Poland is up there too, if the crap that families load up with at Lidl and Biedronka is anything to go by. Processed food rules apparently. I managed to stop all that nonsense, apart from the odd binge on Saturday once a month with the footie. Like abstaining from alcohol, it's a matter of self-discipline.

A lot of fat people are fat because of illness or infirmity though - we shouldn't forget that

Without a doubt. At one time, the fat director cut the best deals, because the client knew he was going to be taken for a good lunch. With rationing looming large in the memory, good food was an excellent selling perk.

Food has always loomed large in the British psyche. Excellent quality meat and 2 veg, followed by (admittedly heavy) creative desserts and some of the worlds' best cheeses. What's not to like?

Then again everyones getting fatter due to.more cheap food and rising wealth. Ud never see fat poles during prl and even in the us back 30 40 plus years ago now theres a lot of fat esp the underclasses.

But seriously tho whatsup w the teeth? Its worse in men imo but ive seen some british women that were gorgeous then they start talking n bam. Do people just not care bout it as much? I know in China its like that while in japan many women cover their mouths w their hand when they talk or laugh.

It's that bloody tea. When I am washing our coffee mugs, no stains. After tea, I have to use Comet and scrub the hell out of the mug to get that UK style brown film out.

This could be one of the reasons that the Brits are worldly renowned for bad breath and teeth, geez! Whats the problem over there!!!!

I never had any Brit cheese and when thinking of "worlds best" one must come to the conclusion of Wisconsin.

Read the first remark in 'comments' for an American's point of view as I know you won't believe anything I say! If you get the chance to go to England, go to a decent pub and try it for yourself :) By the way saying that 'Europe' makes great beer is meaningless. When will you guys understand Europe is not a country!! There are many European countries with not much of a tradition of making beer, it might be wine, or spirits and plenty of European countries brew very average beers.

Right after you guys understand that America is not just one time zone, we have six time zones.
Europe is so small that saying Europe makes good beer means all the little countries of Europe make good beer.
You Europeans hear Americans in a different way then what is being said in American speak.
So what may be meaningless to you is not meaningless to us as we both speak in different terms meaning the same thing.
Back on topic however and that is why are people fat in any country of the world.
Poor diet and lack of exercise is the correct answer.

If by America you mean North America and by Europe you mean The EU then you are perfectly correct.
But The USA is slightly smaller than the continent of Europe.

That's why I try to introduce the name "USians" to not lump the US citizens together with Canadians or Mexicans or the rest of America....it's hard though but it would be a start...
