There is still no option to recycle in Warsaw!

I'm very surprised that there is still no option to recycle any garbage in Warsaw!!!

In UK it is normal to sort any waste into separate bins which is then picked up and recycled by the bin men.

I think that this is a major issue considering that Warsaw is a capital city.

I don't have anything like that. My waste area just has two big blue bins. That's it. I don't have a car so can't drive to a recycling plant.

It's not normal, not all houses have the different bins and consider the amount of apartments in the UK, none of these have recycling facilities either.

There are however plenty of recyling places.

I think you will find it is normal in most areas of UK.

So now it's MOST areas, first you said:

It's also NOT normal if you live in an apartment.

So in short, it is not NORMAL. What people can do is ask their council for the extra bins, for which they will be charged...oh and, the council may not even have the bins anyway.

Look Im not having a go at you, but you seem to think the UK is some recycling mecca and slag off a city like Warsaw, have you been to London lately? Do you seriously think a lot of recycling goes on there?

Im at the end of my tether with M/c city council, I want recycling facilities and they wont give them to me because I live in a flat! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Actually I will slag off Warsaw because for the amount of tax we have to pay the council does not do their job.

Related: Paper shredding / recycling in Warsaw?

I have two large bags of confidential paper documents that I need to dispose of in Warsaw.
I don't have a shredder and I'm not taking the risk of dumping the papers in the recycling bin next to my building.
Does anyone know of a paper recycling centre in Warsaw with a shredding machine that I can use for free?
Otherwise it seems the only alternative is to find a place to burn them, which I'd rather not do.

I guess it has something to do with recycling being a net financial and environmental loss.

Enjoy the delusion.

Merged: where to take old printer in Warsaw for recycling

Can anyone tell me where to dispose of a non-working printer or other electronic waste in Warsaw?

If you live in an apartment building and put it next to the bins (or just next to the communal bins for any block of flats) someone will take it away and repair/recycle/cannibalise it for spare parts within a day.

hmm...im in a house but near an apartment complex - wonder if i could drop it near theirs? I dont want to be accused of "littering" :-)

If it's placed carefully next to the bins, they're usually OK. The bigger the complex the better - especially the kind of place where you see people going through the bins (not as scuzzy as it first looks).

every Saturday from 10am to 2 pm you can take it to the containers depending of your location in Warsaw: I hope it's up to date!

PGTX - the Mokotow location - so that's somewhere near the intersection of ul. Blacharskiej and Lotników? Will it just be a random container on that street? Sorry - google translation was not very helpful.

Mokotow, that's gonna be a parking lot on Blacharska Street, corner of Lotnikow. It should be a marked container.

Let us know if you were successful, it may help other people as well.
