Polish maid very flirtatious?

I noticed that our Polish maid behaves very differently when my wife is not around. She is very flirtatious and is always putting her hands on mine. There is starting to grow a bit of tension between the wife and the maid. One time she jumped into my lab like a little kitten and asked to feed me my meal, and this was really over the top, imo.

I was wondering if Polish maids are culturally expected to seduce the man of the house, as in Brazil?

Or is this just a singular experience?

I don't want to look for a new maid, its hard enough to come by decent workers as it is, so I hope to diffuse this situation in the most simple way possible.

I believe these kind of problems often occur in a part of Poland known as "Strefa mroku". It's a common experience there, and one should be careful when resident there.

I will admit in private here, that watching her scrub down my Lexus and smile at me through the window has made me think unchristian thoughts, but oh well. The wife is getting irritated so.....I don't want to hear nagging anymore.

It's much worse than in Brazil, because as a guest in Poland you're expected to sleep with the maid. Not doing so is very impolite.

LOL! We have a club in Gdynia called Bodega for that sort of thing. On the subject of cleaning - I had to let the "maid" go, as whatever she was doing in my flat for 4 hours of a day, it certainly wasn't cleaning! 75 zl per week taken out of the dog's mouth :)

Doug, we have a slightly different arrangement and my maid will basically do anything I ask of her. She is a real professional, despite the sluggish nature of many Polish workers.

I admit, some of my British and Dutch expat friends do receive favors from their maids, they say it is to calm the bloodstream from the stress of dealing with so many disobedient Polish employees.

Regarding my maid, however, I have put a lot of work and effort into training her for a more amenable and malleable nature. Even her husband thanked me for the work I did with her.

Poland lost most of its servant culture during the communist period and norms of behavior between employers and employees aren't necessarily worked out yet (and since a lot of maids in Poland are actually from beyond the eastern border, cultural questions are also an issue).
