I hope someone may be able to help me with this, I was living in Germany in 2004 and at the time was not very good with my German! I found the TV channel TV Polonia which was like a Godsend with English subtitles. I followed a TV serial called Jan Serce which I enjoyed very much. It was a 10 part serial with English subtitles. The only info I can find online is that it was made in 1982 and actor's names etc. Does anyone know of this serial? Or even better, does anyone have a recording of it? I contacted TV Polonia and they told me that it has never been released on DVD or VHS. So it's down to the chance that someone, somewhere has recorded from the TV! Would also love an update on M Jak Miłosc as I haven't seen it since Jan 2005! :-))) Whatever happened to Teresa? My dream girl :-) Fingers crossed that someone can help. Thanks, Glyn.

Took about 2 1/2 hours to get one episode in 8 downloads (Much faster if you pay, they site limits the download speed to 50kps) but it is good quality and has English subtitles! I never thought I'd ever see it again so thanks again, you've made my day! :-) By the way how did you find it? I have checked many times on Google and only ever came up with a 14 second clip on YouTube.

For those who aren't familiar with Janek, Jan Serce is a TV series from the early eighties about a guy who is searching for his soul mate. He is in my opinion the last truly romantic character churned out by Polish TV. The series also gives you a fairly good idea of the life in Poland in the late 70ties, before the miracle bubble popped.
The whole series is on youtube, this is the first part. I'm half way through the series, and I have to say I like it even more than last time I've watched it.
I remember pieces of that series from childhood times and I am still impressed by it cause it is quite different from everything else you can watch on TV - especially these days, when movies are "produced" to make money, starting from the script phase.
This is one of the pluses of PRL I guess - that a series like Jan Serce could be made.
