Getting a second hand car and driving licence in Wroclaw

Dear Members,

Greetings.

I am from India and moving shortly to Wroclaw for an 2 year assignment.
I would like to buy a second hand car ( ~ 1200 cc, any brand , ~3 to 5 years old) for my local transport.

Can any one give a hint how much does it cost to own?
If I get a Intenational Driving licence from India, does it require to get a driving licence once again from Poland

Hello,

I am thinking about buying a car lately but I have 2 questions if anybody could help.

1- My driver s license is a Turkish one. I have been reading and hearing so many stories such as I can use my Turkish license or I should change it 6 months after entering Poland. I dwell with temporary residence card so I suppose I should change it to Polish one? Anyone knows about it? I do not want to drive illegal. And addition to this- for this exam which office should I go to ask for?

2- About taking delivery of a car, what steps should be taken? notary-local office? and about the insurance-tax-delivery how much will I have to spend? I ll be buying an 20 year old car around 2000-3000 PLN

Thinking about finding a BMW 3.16, hope it will not cause so many problems :P Funny part is the same car costs around at least 13000 PLN in Turkey :)
