Dutch bicycles repair shop in Warsaw

I have a very comfortable old-fashioned Dutch Gazelle bike. 15 years old, came me with to Poland 6 years ago. Idea bike for city traffic. Sturdy frame, weighs half a ton, 3 gears trhough the axle, brakes also..brings me everywhere in a stately even manner.

But where to find a warsztat in Warsaw used to maintain such a bike?

Is there something like Dutch bike? What is it?

I'm confused... Can you post a picture of it?

Why dutch though? Just a city bike. Try SkiTeam shops for repairs though....

I asked around and I'm affraid you are out of luck. Everyone agrees that the Dutch technology is so advanced that no Polish technician can even dream of repairing those crudely welded rockets.

I used to have an Amsterdam, just like your Gazelle, but for boys ;)
I liked the style, but beyond that it's a very shi++y bike. The wheelfork twisted after I jumped a road curb down while braking. Dismantleing the chainprotector is a pain. And the wheels are very prone to rust. Would buy again though but the version for boys =) I allways feel awkward when I take the cityike of my girlfriend to get baps on sunnday.

Here's a link. Gazelle bicycles seem to be very popular in Poland though. Many of my Polish friends were telling me that they had a Gazelle bike at home and how they would love to have one here in IRE.

Edit: the older models look a bit cumbersome, but they last for 40 years or more...Much longer than those thin and light bikes nowadays.

I want to lodge an official protest here :). God knows that being Flemish I pray every day for the Dutch to loose in South Africa :)

But I do not think any thin-plated fragile Giant bike can compete with my Dutch bike.
The Dutch are good at making bikes, even if I hate having to confess that :)
It will go on indeed for the next 30 years or so. It is not made to impress, just brings me to my pub in a reliable fashion.

In the meantime I have asked in the local bike shop here in Bielany. They scratched their head a bit on the advanced technology but will manage :)

There are two I know of, one is on ul Widok next to the french institute the other is on ul stawki ,second section close by the cemetery. They are both well known, the one on Stawki I would recommend as we had an Amsterdamer bike fixed there.
