So we have NC+ right now. When it was just N it was great. I could take that dumb butt lektor off of tons of channels. But now that they merged with equally dumb butt Canal+ they suck. You can technically switch many channels to original however most of the time the lektor just keeps on talking. Most kids channels have totally done away with the ability to change the language, when before you could change it on all American channels like Disney, Disney jr, Nick, Nick jr etc, now only one.
So we are considering Polsat, they have the same channels as NC+, but can anyone tell me which channels you can ditch the lektor and watch it in English?
A few from what I remember. TVN, some of the movie ones, if you have them [like CinemaX, HBO, TCM etc]. Fox as well I think. Eurosport 1 and 2. I think that TVN/TVN7 are the only strictly Polish ones, where during a movie it can occasionally be put to the original one. Some of the cartoon ones as well.
If you want English tv use filmon on your laptop or smartphone , if you have a tv with a hdmi port get googles chromecast dongle, you can then cast your laptop or smartphone screen to the tv directly.
Only if you pay for it; the free streaming isn't in HD.
Of course if someone does pay the subscription and wants to stream in HD then they need to have a. a good internet connection and b. the stream has to work properly which is not a given on FilmOn.
smurf - are you just saying that or do you know it to be true? I understand it used to be that way but apparently no more and you're stuck with Polish commentary whether you want it or not.
nope - Aren't these channels mostly in Polish? News channels don't interest me - I have them anyway
"Probably doesn't stream in HD though, does it?" fussy or what smurf, I was giving the free "Polish style " option
Ok HD answer , Get a subscription to hotspot shield vpn Doesn't cost much, you can then select which country you are in , then use bbc player itv player bt sport whatever you want .
Hotspot shield doesn't work any more with BBCi - hasn't done so for 3 years or so. Was good for a while. Damn difficult to cancel too - you think you're signing up for a year, but you're signing up indefinitely.
Tunnel Bear (who never, ever disclose data to any outside agency; their server is set up so they don't see your IP) are good. $4.99 a month, easy to cancel (just one click) and very easy to use compared with most VPNs. If you don't want to pay for it, the free version gives you 500mb a month. For $4.99 it's unlimited bandwidth. A Canadian company.
Yes. I do sometimes, usually for Masterchef, Bakeoff etc. Plus also for 4OD (we like Grand Designs but the FilmOn More4 stream isn't great - too much buffering and sometimes just drops).
Varsovian "Hotspot shield doesn't work any more with BBCi " id did stop for 2 months, They have upgraded it , works 100% now, yes i got caught out on the auto renewal thing but the have now posted instructions on their website on how to cancel this feature dependant on your payment method, also if you make a complaint about something not being right they will credit you with the time lost.
@dolnoslask, try TunnelBear for a month. I've used half a dozen Or more VPNs over the years (including Hotspot Shield) and found TunnelBear to be by far the best and easiest to use.
Thanks jon will give it a try, do they also do a DNS service as well as vpn? would be nice to use my smart tv apps directly using a dns gateway rather than casting or plugging in a cable.
I think they do but I'm not sure. They have something called DNS leak protection although for myself I like the fact that it's very very simple to use.
jon I will look em up on tinternet, , the DNS leak is what caught out hotspot shield last year the bbc got cute and used this backdoor exploit to find someones real IP.
I just had a quick look and they're saying they have protection for it.
Having said that once (but only once) very recently I couldn't use iplayer. A day later it was ok. I think they change the addresses they use in the UK.
I used to use it in Iraq just after the ISIS thing started since they had to route civilian Internet traffic through Iran and almost everything is blocked from an Iranian IP address.
are you just saying that or do you know it to be true?
With Eurosport I can still change my commentary to English, the same is with most of my documentary channels, a few American ones and some of the kids' stations
How about you learn Polish instead, or is it too hard for you? You know, there Polish channels on Polsat in Polish, it would be a good practice for you as for anyone who comes to Poland with totally broken Polish.
