Why there are so many aptekas, dentists, and language schools in Szczecin?

This is my first month in Szczecin and I noticed that there are maaaaany aptekas, dentists, and language schools. Is it something common in Poland? Why do you guys think this happens in Szczecin? Is there any political, financial or whatever else reason for this?

This is not something exclusive to Szczecin. I've been to many Polish cities and it's no different anywhere else.

There must be a reason, right? I mean it is a way too much. There is literally an apteka and a dentist each block! And a language school each two blocks. I understand that people need to study to become dentists and aptekatists/ But language schools? Is this a kind of money laundering scheme? :-)

Yes, Poles want to learn other languages, obviously. English language schools are especially common as presumably Poles want to learn the language if they are planning on moving to the UK. If there is a lot of demand, there's going to be a lot of competition.

I think that pharmacists have good earnings, because there is no competition between them. People don't or cannot compare prices and go simply to the cheapest. I think that there is still place for a discount pharmacy chain.

As for language schools it's common for children to do private language classes. That's why there are so many of them. Dentists in Sczecin work also with German costumers.

You must live in some special area in Szczecin :) I used to live in this city and I think that situation there is rather normal. Generally, amount of aptekas in every big polish city is high, to high. Maybe many older people live there, I don't know. Other think is that w Szczecin there is PUM - Medicine School and perhaps young graduates want to stay in home city and decide to start own biznes there.... :)

In other Polish cities is similar :)

Yes, we want to know other languages but not to learn ;)
