This forum has already helped me with lots of info, thanks for that, you guys are doing a great job.
I am a software professional from India. I have a job offer from Poland now.
This is the scenario I am in.
I have a notice period of 2 months in my current organization. As I understand the entire process of getting the Visa stamped (background check , work permit and Visa) might take upto 3 months. So to make it safer for me, I should wait for a max period of 3 months before resigning from my current job. Then I will have to serve the 2 months notice period and I will have to wait for a total of 3+2= 5 months before I move to Poland.
Now, 5 months is a long time, it will be great if I can somehow make it shorter.
So here is my question.
Will it be safe for me if I resign from my current job after getting the work permit from Poland ? - thereby saving the time required to get the Visa
Or in other words, what are the chances that my Visa application gets rejected if I have a work permit?
I think that if you have work permit (which is harder to get than Visa), then Visa should be granted automatically. Check this: poland.gov.pl/Pozwolenie,na,prace,7037.html (use google translate)
I would like to answer this question myself after going through the experience.
The only chance that a Polish Visa application based on a work permit gets rejected is if you fill up the application form wrongly or if you fail to submit the required documents (travel insurance/work permit letter for example)
Compared to the other kind of Visas the Visa based on work permit is more straight forward (There was no detailed interview , for example) And there is no need to show proof of funds/bank statement for your stay in Poland
I am too in same situation and wondering how much time it will take for the whole process once I get the work permit. Could you also share few more details:
1. How much time does it take to process and send work permit ? I found in few old posts that it may take 2-3 months. If I may ask how much time did it take for you ? 2. Is it required to book/reserve flight when applying for Visa? 3. For how long do we have to buy travel insurance and travel health insurance ?

Yes they say the average is about 1.5 months for getting the work permit. In my case I think the employer got the work permit in about 2-3 weeks. I think it depends on many factors since the work permit issuing is a Government activity.
2. Is it required to book/reserve flight when applying for Visa? Yes while applying for Visa you need to have a reservation for the air ticket
3. For how long do we have to buy travel insurance and travel health insurance ? Travel insurance and health insurance is same, its required for 3 months from the day of arriving in Poland. The Polish embassy website has a list of insurance providers whose insurance is accepted.
Hi good day, I'm working here in UAE and I got a working permit at a nanny in Poland so what im doing to do. Pls help me what the documents that I wanted to provide. Thank you
I have a Poland work permit visa in my current passport and planning to get reissue of passport due to spouse endorsement. Question is, does my Poland work permit visa valid and can enter Poland for work even after reissuance of passport or do i need to apply work permit visa again
When was that changed. The last thing I had heard (a number of years ago, yes) was that a foreigners first work permit could not be obtained in Poland.
Quite old post. But I don't find any other related post where I can discuss my question. I too have a work permit to work in Poland. I have got all documents. 1. I wonder, If I need to show them accommodation proof too? I can show the accommodation for the time in between my landing in Poland to the joining day in company (which is no more than 2 days). My company will not provide me accommodation. I have to manage by my self. What will be Embassy's reaction/queries when they get to know this information ?
2. I managed to obtain travel insurance for almost 15 days. Is it same as health insurance? Or, do I need to get a health insurance too?My health insurance day will start the day I Join my company.
Also can you please confirm If I need to show my return ticket too while applying for this work Visa ? If yes then after how long I should be returning back from Poland?
