RenewMyPolishPp

Hi Polish Forums,
I have spent the last days reading about confirming citizenship, renewing my Polish passport etc and its all god damn confusing. Not sure what order I should do all the steps and whether it applies to me or not...
Background:
I am a European citizen that also holds a Polish citizenship due to having two Polish parents even tho I was not born in Poland. My Polish passport expired 7 years ago (! - old non-biometric passport) and now I would like to renew it since I would love to move to Poland and discover my Polish roots. Preferably 100% on my own and NOT via a Polish embassy in my country. So: I also ready to travel to Poland/Warszawa and do what it takes over there.
1) What would the steps be, if doing it by myself?
I have read two different guides regarding this which confuses me. I could either;
* Submit a [apostilled] translated birth certificate, marriage certificate stating my current marital status, copy of my current passport (notarized), copy of my old invalid Polish passport to Wojewoda. Wait until confirmation for getting my birth certificate registered at the Polish registry.
- Then apply for pesel
- And then finally apply for a passport
OR
* Submit a "Confirmation of Citizenship" according to bip.mazowieckie.pl/cases/content/326 and wait until its approved
- Then apply for pesel
- And then finally apply for a passport
Can anyone confirm if this is even the correct procedure/order?!
2) The fees listed here and there for application and such. How do I prove I have paid? There is no mentioning about writing any reference number or so. Will my last name do + printing the bank statement showing I have paid?
Probably have some more questions I cannot think of right now. Please spam this thread with your input and experiences. Every answer is welcome :)
Thanks in advance!!
