Street lighting and safety - what the law is in Poland?

Can anyone tell me what the law is in Poland on street lighting? Every Sunday night the lights on the (busy) roads in my neighbourhood city centre area are switched on at about 16.30, 45 minutes after dusk.... when it's already pitch black.

It's a matter of some concern to me, but I know from experience that if I comment on it to a fellow resident they will stare at me with incomprehension and say "What's your problem?"

It's the old Polish story - only after there is a tragedy will be there be a gnashing of teeth and wailing.

No street lights on a city centre area in pitch darkness............Is this legal? Surely not:(

Look Wulkan - either help in answering a serious question or go back under the rock you crawled out under from.
What is your problem anyway? Just two minutes after posting, and I get the usual idiotic response from you, bang on cue.

I have no problem, you have problem with the dark road. Here in the UK all the roads are perfectly lit where ever I drive.

So let me get this right. you are saying this is OK, and OK because it doesn't concern you, but yet you are a parent? Shocking. {blink}

Suffer the poor children.......... It is a disgrace and seems to be common practice every Sunday at non peak times.
Tell children and speeding drivers that.......

You need to contact you city's municipal council (Zarząd Dróg i Zieleni most of the time, but different towns use different names) and find out... could be a fault, an oversight, or a deliberate cost saving measure... posting here will not get that resolved.

Wulkan...What is your problem anyway?

Didn't think i'll see the day when I'll agree with Dp1... but such is life! ;-)

Just call Energetyka and make a compliant instead of making street lights turn on 45 mins late a "Poland's Feat". Obviously ppl aren't bothered and no one made a call yet. Become the saviour of poor children and grab your mobile! :)
