Hello everybody,

I'm non-EU passport holder and I have just recently moved to live and work in Poland on the basis of work visa sponsored by the employer. However some nice opportunities arise here or there on contract basis (IT consulting). But I've been told that I need to register as self employed to take them. The question is is it possible and if it is than how to do that. Any help or advice will be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I've been told that I need to register as self employed to take them.

No reason to - they can issue an umowa o dzielo contract that more or less does exactly the same thing.

I'm from Belarus

I'm sorry for not describing all the situation consistently enough. The idea is that contract assignments arise more often in other EU countries like Germany, Belgium, etc. So the point here is to be based in Poland as a sole trader and perform consulting work for them. In that case I guess umowa o dzielo doesn't work.

Best bet is just to open a UK limited company in that case. You can do it online, you can use an online accountant :)

If you buy property in Spain for more than 150' 000 EURO you will get automatic residency with it. Then conduct your business from Spain.

I have a further question regarding this. I have just been for an interview at school and they suggested that I set up as a sole trader in the UK and just issue them an invoice at the end of every month. How would this work? Would I pay my tax in Poland or the UK? I guess that I'd still have to purchase private health insurance in Poland, but what about the other deductions?
