Does anyone know if I will encounter any problems with shiping an air rifle in into Poland via some shipping company? I know air rifles are legal as long as they have an energy output less than 17J, does that mean that there should be no problem shipping one into the country as well?

thing is, an air rifle is not a firearm. Air rifles can be bought in Poland without a license
Shipping air rifle from UK to PL
Hi all,
I'm planning to send my air rifle to Poland, but I'd like to know if any of you have any experience or knowledge on any restrictions.
I read this similar thread but it wasn't very helpful: polishforums.com/law/poland-sending-air-rifle-43538/ - Sending an air rifle to Poland
Cheers in advance.
simply buy a new and better one when u get here: militaria.pl
I do appreciate the advice Wroclaw, but that's not answering my question.
I've very comfortable shooting with my rifle, and I don't fancy having to re-learn a new one :)

your local police station, gun club or post office might have some answers with regard to sending a firearm.
with regard to receiving it in Poland, i can't help.
If things haven't changed in the last 10 years, then it might not be worth it. We tried to import one as part of our household goods when we moved here ... gave up in the end as the time and effort with office visits, letters, psych tests etc was costing more than buying one here. Can't quite remember what the straw was in the end ... but the camel decided to abandon it as not being worth the effort.
Thanks cjj, that's exactly the kind of reply I was hoping for. It's a shame but I understand they need to be careful about this kind of thing.
I'm not sure I'd pass a Polish psych test! lol

Crossing any border anywhere these days with anything that looks like any kind of weapon can cause you all kinds of grief....
Unless your rifle is really important to you , its better to leave it behind....
I have several hand guns , that have been deactivated , so they cannot fire live rounds...imagine the fun i am going to have moving to Moscow with them....????
