I am going to Poland to attend training for a month on a schengen visa and post training I will have two options, either I can return back to my country and start working there for the same employer or I can stay there in Poland and start working in the same employer. is it possible to get a work permit in Poland if I come on a schengen visa, my emplyer told me that they will fully support and help me in any way possible in getting me the work permit ? but my visa will be just for a month, is it possible to get a work permit in just a month ? I ll be going to Poland on a schengen visa ?
Hello, its not a problem, even you have visa for one day, now the proceddure is simple. just visit the labor office for opinion of employment and same day you can submit application for work visa and resident permit, then the decesion would be in 30 days, and maybe more, but it is not a problem beacuse untill decesion your stay is legal, immigration department will stamp your passport.
thank you for your answer. I had another concern - will it be a problem like im visiting Poland on a schengen visa for purpose of training and after that can start working in Poland, can the authorities object as my original intent to come to Poland was training and now i want to work ? Is it really difficult to get the residence permit ? are lots of questions asked ?
@Nilo: Residence permits are not work permits and the other way round. A residence permit allows you to live in Poland (for a certain period of time) and a work permit enables you to work for one employer and at one job only. The work permit is to be issued through the potential employer who needs to prove that he cannot hire among locals (not only Poles but also residents who don't need work permits).
Where are you from and what are your qualifications/experiences that would make you "unique" in the Polish labor market? Why should an employer in Poland hire you rather than a Pole or a EU citizen, for instance?
My employer has business operations in my country and they want to train me and then hire me but they may ask me to stay in Poland and work from there remotely, the profile is of marketing and I have experience of over 8 years in the relevant field in my country which makes me preferable over any Polish or European candidate, now my concerns are
1. I will be visiting on a Schengen Visa for training. Is it Legal/Alright to apply for Residence/Work permit while on a schengen visa and that even less than a month.
2. Will I be questioned as my original intent to visit to Poland was short term stay i.e stay for a month for training and now I am applying for a Residence/Work permit bcos my employer wants me to give a job in Poland.
3. How tedious or easy are the process to obtain Residence/Work permit. Are there lots of questions asked or it is just a matter of filling an application and getting the permit ?
4. How much time does it take to get Residence/Work Permit ?
