Permanent residence card for E.U. citizens in Poland and Schengen travels

I would like to know if anyone holding a permanent residence card for eu citizen in Poland could travel within the Schengen area .?
The card is biometric and machine-readable showing your identity and nationality and in an embedded rfid microchip similar to that in biometric passport.The chip stores the information printed on the card (such as the holder's name and date of birth) and the holder's biometric photo.

So it can be used for travel within the Schengen area?

I will cite one site which says it precisely:

A permanent residence permit entitles the foreigner to travel to other Schengen Area countries for up to 90 days in a 180-day period for tourism purposes

So the answer is obvious, I believe.

Perhaps I didn't explain it clear enough.I'm spanish EU citizen I'm not from non-EU country and I've got a permanent residence card for EU CITIZEN in Poland.

I want to know if it could be used to travel within the Schengen area without having to show my spanish id card.

Why would you not want to show your Spanish ID card? That sounds odd.

I have no problem in showing my spanish id DominicB.but as i have my polish permanent residence card which is biometric and machine-readable I'd like to use too.
