Poland Passport visa appointment - do the office hold my old passport?

I have an appointment for Visa application on 31.7! and I am going on a holiday on 10.8! So I need my passport to travel.

I've heard they hold my passport for the whole processing time? Is that true? or is there anyway I can get back on 9.8 or something, cause I will need it for travel.

Of which country are you a passport holder?

I see. Is your purpose in visiting Poland touristic, education or simply for vacation? If it's just for a trip, a week or so, you don't really need to know Polish.

Any longer though, definitely learn the language.

Had I known more Hebrew before visiting Haifa, my visit would have been so much more rewarding:-)
