Online kantory in Poland

Obviously normal kantors are a ripoff and exchanging money in the bank is downright stupid.
While researching alternate possibilities, i stumbled upon online kantory like:

Has anybody used them?
Are there any hidden costs?
Are there other ways to exchange Euros that arent a complete robbery?

Ever tried negotiating with them? They will normally negotiate very very well on amounts over 100 Euro.

For serious amounts (ie, at least 20k) - you can ask the bank to negotiate. Most banks will have specialist units that can offer competitive rates - the best I've seen from BZWBK was a margin of just 0.075gr on the interbank Euro rate.

Normal kantors are most certainly not a rip-off (although kantors at airports and five-star usually are).

That's pretty amazing - your kantor is buying GBP for 5.11zł? Best here locally today is 4.98 or maybe up to 5.05 if you sell them over 500zł

Well - the rate I'm quoting was for a serious amount of cash (several transactions of well over 25K EUR) - but it shows that it's doable. You should get within 2gr of the interbank rate easily enough in Poland without much negotiation at all.

Pretty much all the same here locally, if anyone knows of a better local rate for Wroc they should feel free to post it. I have a hundred quid that needs changing so am in the market. Yeah, big money!

Even for a hundred quid, go to them and ask them what rate they'll give. Almost every single small one will move a little bit to get your business.

There's a shocker of a place that was/is in Dworzec Glowny there - the spread was over 1zl. But you can try any other one in the centre - I'm sure you can get it up to 5.02 without any problems.

Not necessarily with them, but others do go up as you suggest, sometimes on a hundred quid and above but not on amounts that are much below that. Using kantor.pl currency. Fees for international transfers are 3 PLN for transactions in EUR and PLN 5 for transactions in GBP, CHF and USD regardless of the amount.

Strong warning that your money is at risk with no insurance if it goes wrong. A lot of people lost serious cash two weeks ago during the swiss franc shock

Then use walutomat.pl As long as you believe the company operating it won't go bankrupt, then you cannot loose money while exchanging it. It will only get exchanged if somebody offers exchange rate which you want.
