How long takes a bank transfer in Poland?

Good day everybody,

I'm Lennard from Hamburg and I need some information for my bachelor theses.

1.1. How long does a bank transfer takes between accounts of the same bank?
1.2. How long does a bank transfer takes between account of different banks?

2. Are there any laws in Poland how long a bank transfer should take at most? (Like §675s in the German BGB)

So many thanks for your answers!

With best regards,
Lennard.

No, it won't, unless it's after a certain time (depends on the bank).

As far as I'm aware, all Polish banks are commited to ELIXIR, the domestic inter-bank protocol that guarantees transfers within three seconds. Financial transactions now operate at a level that leaves Germany, the UK and the US back in the stone age.

Do larger monetary amounts sometimes postpone transferring of funds?

Large sums are liable to be checked in case of criminal activity. Worth mentioning that the OP's other thread smells distinctly fishy.

Hey Lennard, are you sure you don't want to do a criminal activity??? You ask for a virtual mobile phone number, and the time takes one to transfer money!!

Oh, Jesus!

Dear Myjustyna,

:-) don't worry. I'm working for a company which plans to expand to poland and I just want to know some things I can't find on google because of the translation.

Have a good day,
Lennard.

Really? I thought you said in the first post on this page that you need some information for your bachelor theses.

Dear Harry,

I'm writing my bachelor theses in this company. So company and theses matters are overlapping.
Sorry for confusion.

Best regards,
Lennard.

Between accounts of the same bank should be instant or almost instant (depends on which bank and what software they use). Might not always be the case though for transfers between savings/loan accounts to a current account though (again depends on the bank).

Between different banks can be within the same day but again depends on which bank and what time of day you execute the transfer and what currency. It all depends on how often per day a bank applies to its accounts the clearing files of transfers they receive from ELIXIR. Some banks apply these payments multiple times during the day and some just once.

There's a legal requirement for Direct Debit payment requests to be sent from one bank to another and the receiving bank to send a rejection back ( if non sufficient funds) all within the same day. So you can see from this that all banks must be able to transfer funds to another bank within one day.

p.m me for more details.

Besides three elixir sessions per day, some banks offers instant transfer (about 15 minutes) for detail clients, up to 5000 zł.
Anyway Elixir (and EuroElixir) is only one of the couple of settlement routes. For big transfers between banks there is Sorbnet, and soon Sorbnet2.
Besides that many banks are SWIFT and TARGET participants. Obviously there are also transfers through SEPA.

PS. this instant transfer settlement route is in fact private service by Blue Media (?) which technically uses their own accounts in banks in order to take advantage of instant internal transfers.

As far as I know it largerly depends on your personal agreement with a bank (limits of transfer are part of this).
