Importing cars into Poland

Does anyone have info on importing cars into poland? I've heard it costs around 1k usd but I don't know the exact process. Im assuming that its a similar registration and insurance process as in the us but you have to pay a sort of tax based on the engine size and also have to take it once a year to be checked out so that the things like lights aren't faulty and its a safe car to drive.

Any info at all is most appreciated.

The law on importing cars has changed recently, as too many older models were flooding the market. You need to really read up on whether it's actually viable to go through the process.

a similar registration and insurance process

gov prepare a revenge-punishment tax for cars older than10 years so be careful.

Thanks.. Aww that's too bad because I'm into old school American cars and some Mercedes coupes.. Especially the ss novas and chevelles 442 cutlass 560sel etc. Guess ill have to send over some cheap Japanese or Korean car if its going to mean saving a lot of money on the taxes and fees.

Importing Vehicles

I'm looking for information about importing vehicles to poland from canada, costs, what paperwork I need to have in order and the percentage of VAT i will have to pay. Any recommendations on shipping companies?

Thanks all!

It all depends how old the car is, engine size and if you've owned it for 6 months yet or not. Imo its only worth importing personal high end american cars as they are way more expensive than german cars in poland. A jeep cherokee or hummer is more of a status symbol than a Mercedes or BMW of the same class.. caddilacs even.more so they're probably as rare as Bentleys

I like polamer and doma for shipping. Doma the most but idk if they do cars also.
Generally shipping on a roro ship costs 1k to 2k plus depending on the weight of vehicle.

Thwres tons of paperwork involved too thanks to the polish entry in the eu. Back in the day you could stuff a car in a container and no one would care. Now you the inspectors check everything coming into the ports. But customs at the airport is still lax.

I sent a car to a seller in czechy a little bit ago. When I'm back home ill look through my papers and see what you need to do. You can also call polamer and theyll explain everything.
