Girlfriend moving to Poland for work - how can I get a long term visa?

Hey everyone, I'm a Canadian digital worker and my girlfriend just got a job in Warsaw and I'm planning on moving there with her. I'm curious what the best method would be to get some sort of long term visa sos I wouldn't have to worry about doing visa runs every 3 months.

Is there something I can apply for that would take into account our relationship if we aren't married? Can I open up a corporation in Poland and get a business visa/ work permit? What are my options?

@leebor

If you are not married, you are not able to apply as dependent in Poland, unfortunately. You can form a company and apply for a temporary residence permit for 3 years. I got mine done recently.

@leebor
Just set up a LLC, which is the most popular type in Poland

it isnt so easy. more paperwork and fees plus youre taxed on the money coming in and when you pay your employees(or yourself). possible but a much tougher path than the sole trader

Agreed. The responsibilities, liabilities, outlay and stress are far far more than just registering as self-employed.

I wouldn't have to worry about doing visa runs every 3 months.

The good news is that you will not have to worry about doing visa runs every three months. The bad news is that you will not have to worry about doing visa runs every three months because you simply cannot do visa runs any more; once you have been here for 90 days, you then need to leave the Schengen zone for at least 90 days if you do not have a residency permit.
