Hello,
I would like to know If I have been married to a Polish spouse for 3 years (2014-2017) and lived 2 years (2015-2017) on a student karta pobytu in Poland, am I entitled to apply for Polish citizenship?

Regards :)

No. You would have to reside in Poland for at least two years on a permanent residency permit (karta staƂego pobytu), not on a temporary residency permit (karta czasowego pobytu).

Sorry, bud, but you are not going to get Polish citizenship any time soon. Entering into a sham marriage is not going to work.

Well first of all thank you. Secondly, It would be so great if you just don't judge something that you have no idea about :) Sham marriage huh ? Despite that I don't owe you explanation I'll still try to be the bigger man here. I've met my wife in MY country and I've welcomed here in my family's house for over 4 years (She wasn't my wife at that time yet) I've helped her to continue her education, supported her financially and asked for her hand from her parent's house. So do you think any human being would do and handle that and much much more if it wasn't about Love ?? Do you think If I just wanted a sham marriage I would wait for someone to be done with her education and support her with her career and get married ONLY when she's ready ??

I pity you man and I pity people like you in general who gets ''Shocked'' when they find a foreigner married to Polish lady :) You and people who think the same way as you do. I mean, Yes there are a lot of people who get married for ''benefits'' only so they enter into a sham marriage. I'm not denying that, but the fact that you don't even know me, my wife or our life and you just assume that It was a ''Sham marriage'' because I'm a ''Foreigner'' just shows how closed minded and racist are you :)

N.B: I'm carrying a passport that is actually much higher in rank than the Polish passport ;)

@Honeymoon55

Why do you keep referring to her as your "wife" when you are not married yet? And why are you asking such basic questions on some random internet forum instead of asking your "wife"? Sorry, but I don't buy your story. There's something fishy going on here. And as for you "carrying a passport that is actually much higher in rank than the Polish passport", that is dubious indeed. You've been very secretive about which country you are from, a sure sign that you come from a third-world country. And the "don't judge" line is a dead giveaway that I am far from the first who had suspicions about your motives.

For someone who claims that they are not going into a sham marriage, you have acted precisely like someone who is going into a sham marriage would, and nothing at all like someone going into a genuine marriage.

Well I'm pretty sure I can ask whatever question I want on this forum. It's not your forum at the end of the day tho. Me not wanting to share where am I from doesn't mean that I'm from a third world country, it just means that I don't want to tell YOU where do I come from ;) I mean I could've said or chosen any random country right ? and the reason I'm asking questions on this forum is because my Polish spouse doesn't actually know much about the procedures. Does she have to know about everything ? Honestly, I don't know about all the procedures of marrying a foreigner in my country either so I totally understand her situation.

As I said earlier, I don't owe you any explanations but yet I'm answering your foolish dumb questions. Probably you're just one of these Polish immigrants who live far away from their home country and just point fingers at any foreigner who enters their country. I'm used to people like you man, i've been living/studying/working in Poland for some time too so I'm used to such behavior. You know? a simple '' No you can't apply for the citizenship yet'' answer would've been much better from the very beginning that all the nonsense you've been saying.

my Polish spouse

According to you, you don't have a Polish spouse. You might have a Polish fiancee, but repeatedly referring to her as your "wife" or "spouse" is dishonest and very off-putting.

Probably you're just one of these Polish immigrants

I'm an American, native born and bred. And I lived in Poland for twelve years.

Again, I just don't buy your story.

Me neither. The story doesn't add up, and the focus on the USC asking questions while being obsessed with citizenship suggests that someone is afraid of getting caught out. The whole story about "supporting the wife" sounds very much like a sham marriage too.

If your passport is so much higher in rank than the Polish passport, then why do if even bother?

I never knew passports are ranked. Is there a list somewhere we can all laugh at? Do they have fights somewhere?

It can't be that much higher - Polish passports are now (just) in the top ten tiers.

I was just being sarcastic. He obviously wants to get it.

Yes, he seems very keen. He could be eligible, however he'll need the residence requirements.

I got the sarcasm and was thinking of saying the same thing ;-)
