hey guys.

i am an Irish/New Zealand dual citizen. I was born in New Zealand and got Irish citizenship through the foreign birth register. I have recently gotten engaged to a Polish woman and we will be getting married in Poland in 2018. As i am living and working in the UK as an Irish citizen, is that the passport I would need to get married under? As in I would need to get a certificate of no impediment from Ireland? Or from both?

I'm not an expert but I don't see any reason why you should one passport and not the other in the rule of law. It is only indicated that you should possess an ID with photo, copy of birth certificate, additional papers if you was married before and a document certifying you are free to marry, issued in a country of origin - all translated by a sworn translator.

A little note: in the case of birth certificate, the translation should be made by a person / institution from this list of Polish Ministry of Justice:

bip.ms.gov.pl/pl/rejestry-i-ewidencje/tlumacze-przysiegli/lista-tlumaczy-przysieglych/search.html

It is recommended to use only one and the same document in Poland to avoid some issues, so if your choice is Irish passport - use it always whilst in Poland.

If you have some doubts, better call a Polish consulate to be sure.

Better reconsider marrying in Poland. Polish family courts are so biased against male foreigners that you're going to get fubared in case of divorce. If you marry in Poland then polish family law will be in effect.
