Want to divorce wife - Need Help (married in Poland)

Hi,

I am an English National, who married a polish woman, in Poland. I want to get divorced (after 10 years).

Is there a website that deals with this (dont speak polish) and what document do I need to submit to the court?

Any links/help will be much appreciated.

The best way to do that is to get a good, experienced attorney who knows what they're doing. If you try to go this alone, it can end up costing you an arm, a leg, and a kidney or two.

Dominic is right. Remember the old saying," spoiling the ship for a ha'p worth of tar". This is not just about money. I looked back at your old threads and you have two kids. It is crucial that you have a lawyer in order to ensure that you get a fair deal regarding access to your children. And in the future, if their mother makes it difficult for you to speak to them, see them etc. then you may well have to take her to court over it so costs could well be an ongoing part of your life. Any money you spend now on your divorce proceedings will be a good investment in the long term. Best of luck with it.

if you want a divorce you have to pay a solicitor, there are no two ways round it.

You are both right. I will get a lawyer so he can "dot the i's and crosses the t's" in this case, even if costly at the beginning it will be worth it in the long run.

Are you back in the UK? If you're married in Poland, wouldn't it just be easier to go back to the UK if you're not there, and kind of just forget about her? Or is there something to do with the EU which means a Polish marriage can be enforced in the UK? Genuinely curious how that works now.

The first question is where do you live. The second is are there any kids. The third, and most important, is whether you want to risk going to prison with unpayable debts because you took legal advice from an internet forum rather than a qualified lawyer.
