Damaged documents. Poland VISA and Work permit information

Hello Guys,

I have got opportunity to go through the great posts and your sincere replies on this forum. And finally, I am also connected with you now.. :)

I am an IT Software engineer from India. I am getting an offer from Poland.

1) I have data blur on my address in my passport. I have observation regarding my address. Would that effect in applying Poland VISA ?
2) For how many years can the VISA stamping be made ? Does it depend on employer(I tell you, Employer is willing to give me VISA for long term) or the embassy?

3) My passport Validity is till September 2017 (for around next 3 years). Can I get work permit and VISA for period more than that if I apply for VISA now ?

4) The actual time frame for VISA as per process is 10-12 weeks, but I see that some friends VISA's are made in 4 weeks even. So Is there any speedy process ?

5) What are the general chances of rejection of VISA in any case? And, can we re-apply after rejection ?
6) How much salary can I expect for exp. between 5-8 years.
7) Can you please share any other things which is useful for me during whole work permit and VISA stamping process.

You need to replace it. The damage of documents may affect the decision.



It's yet another circumstance why you should replace it.


The length of visa applications processing varies. It depends on the country, whose citizens apply for such a document. I don't know nothing about speeding up, but a number of things can slow down the processing of your application. But if everything is fine you may get your Visa quicker than the estimated time frame which you provided.


If all requirements are met, you should be fine. Specific circumstances about Visa denial were presented, check my link above. In case if it happen you may re-apply for the Visa again.


Ask people who are working in the same business or call directly your employer.

I also have the same issue, but in my case passport is not damaged but there is one digit correction made in address as observation.

for Exp.

Add: ABCD.
Correction Observation add: BBCD(on page 3 manually duly stamped).

and my surname is also blank.

will I have an issue in terms of getting visa for Poland.
and unfortunately I don't have extended time window to get new passport :(

judging by common sense address shouldn't be so important but it seems that you must find out yourself or call embassy

So you expect to get a visa on the base of a passport in which your surname is not visible? How peculiar.

I have newzealand rejection stamp in my old manual passport (nepalese passport) of 2006 from new delhi. Now i have mrp passport where old pp number is mentioned .

Will poland embassy which is also in new delhi have any doubts or questions on that , will it affect my poland process, will they know that i had been rejected eight years ago ??

Any idea please ??

No, it's entirely separate case. If you fulfill all the requirements you should be fine, even if they know the New Zealand thing.
