Contract to pay professional football in Poland. Work permit required?

Hi everyone, my brother in law has been offered a contract to play professional football in Poland. He is a Nigerian citizen currently living in Nigeria, but he has a five year visiting visa to the UK. He had an appointment booked today at the Polish embassy in Abuja. As he was sent via email his contract to sign, he signed it and emailed it back, so he did not have the original copy of the contract. The football club said this should not be a problem as they will confirm the legitimacy of the contract if contacted by the consular. As he was waiting in the waiting room, the consular asked to see his documents and refused to give him an interview as he had a scanned document, not the original. He said not to waste his money as he will definitely be refused. We have tried to book him another appointment but there are none available until august on wards, and he needs to be in Poland this month to play!!

Is it possible for him to apply from the UK? as there are available dates throughout this month?

I would appreciate any help and advice, thanks x

It's surely required; being a soccer player is a regular job (even in some lower/local football leagues). If he doesn't have EU card then he'd better hurry before the new football season ends.. : )

Get him to finish high school and obtain a valid certificate of qualifications (whatever your system is). He can apply for a student visa in Poland and play football during his downtime - it will give him the chance to play football in Poland.

If you send me a private message, I'll give you the contact to a Nigerian football agent based here in Poznan.
