Complete car nut and bolt refurb (OC/AC) - registration in Poland

I am english living in poland in small town an hour from krakow I need some advice on OC/AC as I have an old Merc which has low mileage but needs a total clean up I'm stripping it down and cleaning respraying new and renovating interior etc the current OC runs out in a few weeks and the work is part time project for me to keep my mind busy its kind of like therapy for me

The problem is as the insurance will expire and the car is stripped can i deregister the car to avoid renewing the insurance as I think its wrong to have to insure a car that is off the road in a secure alarmed garage guarded by dogs and in a million pieces

could i put it on export plates as its been in my name for over a year, in the uk i could register it without tax then put it straight on a sorn notice

As far as I know, you can just hand back the plates to the office that issued them.

Million pieces of the car can slip off the jack stands and crush a guard dog :)

You still need an oc insurance.

I have took the plates back and told them it will be cut up for spares to repair another car I asked bout re registering if someone decides to fix it up again they sid it would need to hve a test like the mot then it would be fine so now i have 1 car without reg plates and a saving of 2000pln over the 2 years the work will take so no need for O/C as technically the car no longer exists
