Hello, I need your help on a topic. I'm 25 years old and my father who's 53 recently became naturalized as a polish citizen due to his 5 year long marriage to a polish citizen. Do I have a right to claim a citizenship or permanent residence since my father is now polish? Or must the parent be of polish blood? Thank you very much
So basically what's you're saying is that in the eyes of the polish government, I am consisted a foreigner like anyone else even though my father is now polish?
That's correct. You are a foreigner just like any other, and the fact that your father is now a citizen is irrelevant. He would have to have been a citizen at the time of your birth to make any difference. If you want to get Polish citizenship, you will have to do it just like any other foreigner, as your dad did.
