I would like to know is it cheaper to buy cars in poland or it is cheaper to import from other european countries. I have heard used cars in germany are much cheaper then in poland, do you know anyother country which is cheaper too in EU? Looking for your kind advice.

Thanks

Go to Germany. Many cars on the Polish used car market have already been bought in Germany and had a few token repairs done (if at all) for a 20% rise in price.

Case in point: I bought a 2006 Ford Galaxy in January for EUR 11,000 in Nurnberg, Germany. This was a fairly representative market price for the year, condition and mileage. Same car in Poland came out around 60,000 PLN (exchange rate is around 4.12 - was then too).

Plus - sorry Polish car dealers - there's a bit more trust that a car bought in Germany hasn't had the mileage counter tampered with, etc. Not my opinion - that of Polish relatives who all buy abroad and told me to do the same.

Cars in Holland are not cheap. Neither is gasoline and taxes.

M-G (plus I thought you cannot buy a new car in another memberstate and then drive with it on local licenseplates, but I'm not fully sure about that)

You're right. You get temporary plates to drive the car to your destination (unless you plan to pick it up with a low-loader) and register on arrival. Make sure you park in a secure car park until you have the local plates sorted: car thieves love the temporary plates because they are near enough untraceable.
