WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE EURO CURRENCY TO POLAND?

germanic smartness

If they were that smart they wouldn't have agreed to the whole thing to begin with. They are technically savvy not so much at running large states. It's not their game. Even now, their country has distinct little states.. all with differing ideas, personalities. Funny, given how small it really is.

Hey man, I love the Mediteranean countries.. just stop f.ucking around , letting people retire at 38 or whatever. You'll be fine. WTF.. the weather is great, all you need is a damn scooter to get around.. no heating bills..or whatever. Try living in N. America. That's truly a bi/tch.

They need a Lebensraum and a sphere of influence. The problem is that Europe is largely fragmented to places with completely different traditions and customs.

The problem in mediteranean countries is deep and has historic roots. Also in Europe northern countries are richer than the south despite the climate difficulties.

Yeah....look at Germany...we really suffer! :)

The Euro was bad for Germany because.....?
Especially compared to the US/UK performance.. ;)

EUROPE .. on the other hand. Good things too, but the German voter will get tired of the Euro, eventually. It's just commonsense. Look man, you think your people are going to want to bail out Portugal? Whoever else? No.. they wont. Who cares.. Death of the Euro will dramtically lower prices , pick up consumption, which will help your economies.

You know that alot of your money is given to weaker US states, don't you?
You are a money transfer union too...as are most bigger countries.
When are you about to abandon the Dollar?

Well...as you won't abandon the Dollar despite it's bad handling and problems so Europe won't abandon the Euro, which is quite strong and stable

Get used to it!
Or you will sound like the crazy guy who waited 50 years in his bunker for the soon-to-come nuclear war...for nothing...

Nahh, not about suffering.. it's about being the friend that has to pick up the bill at the restaurant. That friends grows tired of it.

Europe will still be as amazing as it ever was.. maybe more so. I give the EU 8 - 9 years. You are emotionally tied to the Euro, Bratwurst? Never a good idea.

You don't have that many problems.. and without you.. there is no West. Look at the West, look at the East.. which do you want? Which does your hungry stomach want?

Well...it isn't for nothing, you know...said friends makes us so successful in the first place.
We are an export nation, the state of our friends is adamant to our own well being.

Short sightedness and stupidity are close cousins! ;)

. I give the EU 8 - 9 years.

Wow! That's more than the doomsayers gave the EU at the start...some 60 years back!!! :)

You are emotionally tied to the Euro, Bratwurst? Never a good idea.

Ooooh quite the contrary! I'm an egoistical nationalist in the first place. You should know me by now. I'm emotional tied to the success of my country. ;)

The EU and the Euro are good for Germany, hence my support! :)

Oh and since Germany retook her natural place on the top in Europe you can take it from me that as long as that stays that way and Germany profits from the EU/the EURO both are going to stay too, fact! ;)

You see.. this statement alone is the reason the rest of Europe will resist your hegemony over them. You just typified what they fear most.. the loss of their identity as Poles, Greeks, French, English, Italian, Slovenian.. on and on.

Well..Europe resists any form of hegemony by default! Why do you think the history of Europe is such a violent one?

But on the other hand why do you think people chose to buy...say...BMW or Mercedes and not their own, homegrown brands?
THAT is also a kind of hegemony, and they are not resisting, quite the contrary! ;)

You just typified what they fear most.. the loss of their identity as Poles, Greeks, French, English, Italian, Slovenian.. on and on.

Well...money rules, and people enjoy spending their money as French, Greeks, Italian, Slovenians and so on. I don't think they believe they are losing their identity whenever they buy a german gadget...

And Germans frankly don't care what nationality buys our products! So their identities are totally safe ;)

You don't have that many problems.

We have many problems.Basically in mediteranean countries the clashes that gave the balances in western societies during the 19th century never happened.

...
Poland has greatly benefited from its integration to mainland EU. Twenty years ago, the deeply Catholic country was largely agricultural and considered backward and provincial, a millstone around Europe's neck. Since then, however, Poland has experienced an almost nonstop boom.

You see Pennboy....as long as our neighbours are peaceful and prosperous Germany's well being is assured.
The EU is good for that!

...
Germany and Poland have drawn closer as the EURO crisis hit over the last 24 months. Poland was among the first to extend its support to EU fund to save Greece. Warsaw and Berlin are both committed to economic austerity. The Polish constitution includes a debt limit, and the banking sector is subject to strict controls that largely prevented Poles, unlike the Hungarians and those in some Baltic states, from borrowing in foreign currencies.

"I am a fan of the European Union," says Wroclaw Mayor Dutkiewicz, who shares the sentiments of many Poles - a people who could very well be the biggest champions of the European idea on the continent. "We have managed to derive maximum benefits from our membership," says Dutkiewicz.

Just noticed this.

I wonder was M-G actually living in the same Dublin?

nearly two million ppl

eh...no?! 1.6/1.7 at a push if you include all sorts of questionable outlying areas, generally, 1.3 is more like it.

not ONE single Greek restaurant?

Wrong - at least 4 that I know of and I don't even live there.

There are 1 or 2 Spanish restaurants

Try 5 or 6 maybe.

1 Mexican restaurant

Again, I know of 4 personally.

Yes, plenty of Indian, Chinese, Italian ( I mean real Italian - not just pizzerias) and to a lesser extent Thai - like most other cities ?!

Plenty of other options for dining too: Japanese, Lebanese, French - what do you want?

I suspect two things:

1) M-G wasn't happy there

2) By Dutch standards, very few European cities will live up to expectations of multi-national dining. E.g. Amsterdam is well known for it's array of choice in that respect.

Nobody has claimed that the likes of Dublin is the epicentre of any global cultural melting pot - have they?

By the way:

in half a litre of vinegar into your fries

They would be chips. Fries are the anaemic McDonalds style plastic things you get in The Netherlands, covered in mayonaisse ; )

...and "without vinegar" is an option you know - it's not against the law.

Do not underestimate the germanic smartness. They know exactly how much they have to type to keep you in a constant four leg positon.

;)

The problem is that Europe is largely fragmented to places with completely different traditions and customs.

What about the EU? Should not solve that issue? ;)

Oh and since Germany retook her natural place on the top in Europe you can take it from me that as long as that stays that way and Germany profits from the EU/the EURO both are going to stay too, fact! ;)

Spoken from true MPD.

I give the EU 8 - 9 years

That long?
