Advice please - Getting monies from a Poland employer who refuses to pay

Yep i would say i was far to nice to them, all because i want a good reference!

I have learnt a massive lesson from all of this, which I'm glad i have learnt early on :)

Still, don't sue unless you can afford an official
translator. For legal reasons you must know and be told exactly what's being said in court. You'd probably only win on paper anyway.

OMG - this is the situation I'm still in, the only difference is that the lousy school never registered me as working there (although I have plenty of proof) and, despite claiming otherwise, never paid tax on me. We're lucky here, we have a local 'citizens advice' office that gives free legal advice and they put us in touch with our PIP. It was all going swimmingly, they were only too happy to take up the case and even fined the company - who refused pay. PiP was supposed to've started proceedings a year ago and 2 weeks ago, when I contacted them, they told us we should take the company to court directly (which is what we were going to do anyhow, but they told us not to as they would do it on my behalf). Am now considering going to court myself, but also including the local PiP in the action for failing to act on information about a breach of employment law ;)

Why, thank you sweetie - was the nickname we gave to one of our kittens, she was better than an alarm clock!

I gave up trying to do that with one of the schools I work for at the minute, the latest nonsense from them is "we can't pay you in accordance with the date on the contract because we don't get paid on time" :D

Well i can say, with the threat of legal assistance on my behalf (Cheers Delph), they suddenly manged to find the money the next day! which i collected today in cash.

Shame it had to go this far, but hey

She was sorting that while i was their and bringing round to my house by 6pm..

The fact the DOS was even at school means something must be being done, i last saw her 2 months ago.

I hope she will just get on and do it, or a trip to her house is in order :)

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had experience with previous employers not paying up after you quit? Yes, this was an English teaching job, and these situations come a bit with the territory. I know I will probably never see the money again, but it would be good if anyone had any tips for taking action.

It has been over 2 weeks since I quit. They don't answer my calls and are very rarely in the office. My lawyer deals with the case and hopefully will be successful, but I have my doubts.
