Should I Pay Taxes in Poland?
Dear All,
i am new here, great to know about this forum! just heard of it after 2 years being here in Poland!!
I am married to a Polish, and we have been in Poland since January 2010, so 2 years; i will need one year more to get my permanent residency, as now i am on the temporary one.
Before Poland, we lived abroad, working for 6 years; we earned and saved all our money and deposited them in my bank account out of Poland where we lived before, and came to Poland 2 years ago with some cash which were allowed to carry on as per the law. Now we both don't work in Poland, yet we are looking for job, tough time ahead. ... Thanks God we have savings, and we live in family owned appartment, so expenses are bit low. I regularly withdraw almost every month or 2 what we need for our expenses from my bank account abroad using my credit/debit cards.
My questions:
-we are not earning income, and i reside in Poland more than 186 days per year (i would say almost 10 months per year);am i entitled to pay any form of taxes ? i don't have income in Poland, and we use our money which we earned before coming to Poland, deposited in our foreign account.
-will any authority in Poland question me ? and can they go further to ask about my bank abroad for details of my account to prove that i have saving from which i am spending ? or they can't do that ?
-also, i receive sometimes money from my father back home, given to me in cash when i visit him. Any tax i have to pay ??
Any feedback is welcome.
Regards.
PS: i have job interview next week in Wroclaw, wich me good luck!! do they pay well there? am mechanical engineer.
