Why not just travel on the passport of your existing nationality?

heheh u have to leave for an urgent issue :-) Maybe you just wanted the PL ID to enter the UK ? hahaha ... anyway after u apply for citizenship ull wait for about 3 months to get the certificate... after this you will have to apply for the iD card and that takes another month. This all totals around lets say 350 zl with photos and all the rest ... you can find this info online...

I believe you have to pass an exam (written and oral) before they let you become a citizen. Otherwise, what can you give to Poland, if you can't speak the language.

And following the old maxim: Ask not what Poland can do for you, but what YOU can DO FOR Poland.

Well if you are a Non-EU citizen and a spouse of a Pole, apply for Temporary Residence Card in the Vivode office where your spouse stays or Polish Embassy/Consulate in your country, you may get either for year or max two, then you can come down to Poland.

Don't bother: Polish girls cost at least four times as much as the competition. Get yourself a Latvian instead, they can be had for as little as EUR 1,000 (although the average price is about EUR 2,000) but you still get exactly the same rights to live in the UK as you would with a Polish wife.

3 and half years of our marriage including the 1 and half year we spend out of poland or 3 and half year i have to spend in poland from now

nope! im married to a polish woman 21 years but you have to register your marriage in poland and apply for residency permit for 2 yrs and apply again after 2 after 31/2 yrs you can apply for your citizenship and can get it from local vovydeship(governership) takes 1 month for starz graincza and 2 months for vovyeda to answer if they need stupid documents like proof of your mothers maiden name etc,but even if you are one month late you have to apply to the ministry AKA president has to issue you which takes 4 months same procedure....honestly easier! after decezia you can apply for passport, just dont ask for anyones help go there on your own and get the papers they want translate and submit em legally with sworn translators with orignals! GOOD LUCK!

I can't believe how many Polish girls there are that are gullible enough to marry people from countries like Nigeria, Pakistan and India and don't actually realise what (in many cases, not all) the motivation is.

I mean......this one is a classic:

HELLO ,I M NOW LONDON ,BUT I HAVE STUDENT VISA AND IF I WILL COME IN POLAND THEN I MARRIED POLISH GIRL

This character is looking to come to Poland solely to marry a Polish girl and and obtain citizenship. It doesn't take the brains of an archbishop to work out where his next port of call would be armed with his newly obtained Polish passport.

I think they must make some money off of it too. It's an indicator of a lack of options for some just like a high number of prostitutes is, in fact it's really just another form of prostitution.

I'm fine with Poland making citizenship difficult, but getting any sort of work visa through marriage (which would allow Polish people to bring their foreign non-EU spouses back to Poland, and, you know, build a life there and make a contribution) seems to be a massive ordeal. I think it is self-defeating for Poland that I am very easily able to get essentially unrestricted open-ended work visas anywhere in the EU with little or no expense based on our relationship, but Poland's process for getting a similar permit is so difficult. At a minimum I think they should really have some sort of 2 year visa which can be granted easily, which can roll over for the genuine candidates.

Perhaps someone will be able to explain the options - I've talked to the consul here and he suggested the easiest thing for me to do would be to get a working holiday visa because that way they can sort it out here and it doesn't have to go to Poland and get processed through the Wojewodztwo! Seems crazy to me. By the time we want to go to Poland, we will have been married at least 2 years. I'm a NZ citizen.

Poland really needs to start looking into the whole fake-marriage thing more intensly ( pass a law that places the burden of the costs of deportation on the citizen that participates in such activities ) because, not only based on what I see on this forum, it is quickly becoming a pipeline.

Well I really hope they just don't make everything more difficult for everyone. Smart immigration reform can happen and incentivise desired immigration while screening fraud more accurately, but frequently its incredibly blunt and has disincentivises the good as well as the bad immigration.

My wife and I were married in the USA 28 years ago. She was born in Poland. As a US citizen. I have helped her get her USA citizenship. We have registered our marriage in her local district records office. I gave them our USA marriage certificate, my birth certificate, and my USA passport all translated & notarized into Polish by a Polish attorney. Question is how long am I required to live in Poland before I can apply for a permanent residency card and then polish citizenship? Am I required to own property in Poland? Am I allowed to leave Poland during the time I am applying for citizenship? Can I get polish permanent residency or citizenship without having to actually live in the country, what constitutes having established residency in Poland in order to qualify for permanent residency or citizenship? thank you

I was born in Poland but my parents moved to the USA when I was 2 years old. They have both died here in the USA. I have a copy of my polish birth certificate showing both my parents were polish citizens when I was born. How do I obtain polish citizenship again. . What documents do I need to produce?
