Indefinite contract - Statutory Termination Period

I have recently received a contract of work for an indefinite amount of time and I have been wondering about the notice that I would have to give in the event that I wish to resign for whatever reason. The contract states that it would have to be "with observance of the statutory termination period". Any input on that?

So far I have managed to find out about it being 2 weeks in the event of employment under 6 months, 1 month if over 6 months but less than 3 years and 3 months if over 3 years. Is that correct? Will I have to give a notice of 3 months if I end up working for more than 3 years there?

Yes, but it's even more than that. The notice period applies from the start of the week (if under 6 months), otherwise it applies from the start of the *next* month.

However, the same also applies to them getting rid of you. If you don't like it, offer to work under a B2B contract instead where your notice period can be whatever you agree to. In practice, companies won't hold you to the 3 months - you'll be sent on gardening leave, or the contract will be terminated by mutual consent.
