Bank papers translated from English to Polish by a sworn translator?

Hi,

I need to have some bank papers translated from English to Polish by a sworn translator. The company I used last year charged me 140 PLN per sheet. I want to know if it is the norm or if I was ripped off as I'm a foreigner, and if you can suggest someone who is cheaper.

Thanks

You don't write in which city you need this translator. Google search shows prices closer to 50zł per sheet. But if you were ripped, then it's only because you haven't searched for cheaper option, not because you're foreigner. I needed translation in Munich recently and prices for Greek - German sworn translation ranged from 30 to 60 eur per page. And not surprisingly 60 eur translators advertised more.

Sworn translators are listed on the website of the Polish Ministry of Justice:

bip.ms.gov.pl/pl/rejestry-i-ewidencje/tlumacze-przysiegli/lista-tlumaczy-przysieglych/search.html

not because you're foreigner

It does have a bearing. For example a taxi from Poznan Airport to the Mother in Laws costs my partner 15-20Zlt. It rarely costs me less than 40Zlt.

Depending on what you mean by a "sheet", but I'd say that you most probably got ripped off. I think the people I know charge in the region of 40zl (plus VAT) per 1,125 characters (including spaces). Want me to send you their email address by private message?

Thanks for your answers. I just need the translated documents to be sent to an address in Poland, Warsaw would be great. Yes please Harry, I would really appreciate if you could send me the details of the translator you use.
