Bank Charges for incoming funds

I'm looking to purchase PLN in the UK then transfer them by swift to my PKO BP current account. Am I right in thinking this bank will charge for incoming funds?

Also can anyone recommend a good currency exchange outfit in the UK? Tried several and they all seemed much of a muchness.

Wouldn't it just be easier to open a GBP account in Poland, then just transfer GBP to GBP that way, then convert within the bank?

Good Point, though I find it hard to believe PKO would offer a half decent exchange rate

I'd be interested to know how people transfer funds from UK to Poland- Any recommendations/avoids?

How much money are you looking at transferring? The magic point is normally 20k EUR to get a very very good rate (within 1gr to the interbank rate)

I got your message -

Yes, you'll be able to negotiate with the bank on that kind of exchange. If they say "no', just threaten to take the money elsewhere - they certainly won't want that kind of cash slipping through their hands.
