how much should a babysitter in warsaw cost?

We have someone coming over to babysit our son tomorrow. She's not expecting to get paid, she's just planning on helping us out with it, but we would like to pay her. What is a reasonable rate for babysitting in Warsaw for about 8 hours? We're new to Poland and not familiar with such things yet.

She more than likely won't take the money - in fact, in the Polish culture, it can be exceptionally awkward to take money for such a thing.

If you must, throw her a couple of 100zl notes and she won't be complaining at all.

If yuou were to engage a babysitter/nanny expect to pay at least 10PLN per hour cash in hand.

She's not expecting to get paid,

Then the best is to give her a nice present or money for a present if you don't have a clue what to give her to thank her.

As for babysitting rate ( for students etc) babysitters can charge between 15zl to 20zl an hour but this is my experience in Krakow ,don't know the going rate in Warsaw.

Give her a bouquet of flowers instead, as a token of your appreciation :)
