"I go to the university by train" in Polish?

Ja jeżdżę do uniwersytetu/na uniwersytet pociągiem?

Which one is ok?
And can I use chodzić or jeżdzić is better?

Hmm, not sure, I would say: Jadę na uniwersytecie pociągiem.
Wait for more serious answers (=Polish speakers).

Well I ain't the language teacher.
If you do it regularly it should be dojeżdżać to work, school and so on..... people would say often jeździć as well in the case but that is not correct usage.


Jadę na uniwersytet pociągiem ? - that present continuous. That is correct provided you are talking on your mobile and telling somebody say your sweetheart your whereabouts.

On the other hand you would have been understood if you would say - Jeżdżę na uniwersytet pociągiem.

Out of these 2 it should be na uniwersytet.

Ja is not necessary. Personally I would make it "Dojeżdżam pociągiem na uniwersytet (or na uczelnie)".

chodzić - go on foot, walk
jeździć - go using a vehicle (car, train, bike or any other vehicle)

We can't say: "chodzić pociągiem".

Yes, 'jeździć' is ok but is a 'general' word that describes any kind of travelling (e.g. going for trips, shopping, to work etc.).

But in this special case (going to work, school regularly every day) we more often use the word 'dojeżdżać' which means 'to commute'.
