How to pronounce the Polish word "w" in sentences?

Do you pronounce the w in sentences? For example Kot jest w domu(i think its domu anyway), is the w silent?

Also for the word Co, is it pronounce So? or Cho?

in cyrillic alphabet, со would be pronounced as polish 'so', but in this case our 'c' is always pronounced as 'ts'. kinda confusing.

Exactly. And what is worth to add is that we link those little one-letter words with the next word when pronouncing it. So: z domu, w domu, w szkole are pronounced like: zdo-mu, wdo-mu, fszko-le. Maybe that's the reason why OP doesn't hear it.

Hey I really like Rosetta stone, it helps because it gives you a lot of practice and lessons are often automatically repeated. The voice thing records your voice and helps you pronounce properly, I was suprised at how well that part worked, I was expecting it to be annoying. It's a great program however it isn't enough to learn, I still have to substitute with books. Rosetta stone works in a way that it immerses you into the language with no english translation at all, they've designed it so your common sense will pretty much tell you which answer is correct.

W in Polish is pronounced exactly as [v]. Polish may be hard in pronounciation because it is very accurate - you pronounce almost exactly as you spell.

ciemności can be approximated by saying chemnoshchee in English but bear in mind this is an approximation only (for Poles the sound 'ś' and 'ci' are very different from 'sh' and 'chee'

It rarely occurs on its own. When it does, it's like an English v with no vowel following. Most of the time, attach it to the following word and if the first sound of the next word is p, t, k, ć, c, cz, s, sz then its pronounced more like f.

w ciemności = fchyem-NO-shchi (with vowels like Spanish).
