Not sure if it was Danum or Hallcross

Hall Cross did Latin as i studied it when i was in year 9 that was back in 1992 ...... Not sure on Danum as my brother and sisters went there .... I know that Armthorpe Comprehensive in Doncaster offers Polish Language as a GCSE subject (my cousin has just done her exams in it) and if you look on the AQA website you'll actually find Polish exam papers and that :)

my daughter has decided she would rather study Polish and Spanish than French and German :D

Hi,
Have you tried on online language website, they uselly offer languages courses for a reasonable price.
I'm taking russian lessons on 3w.learnissimo.com for 5 euros/30 minutes and they are serious.
I think they also have polish lessons, just have a look.
Good luck,
Angel.

Besides Pimsleur Audio & Rosetta Stone, I'd also recommend the Berlitz Polish Phrase Book, it has lots of useful phrases & an audio CD. The CD doesn't have all phrases from the book, but it's still very good.

I also bought some American TV series (Lost, Prison Break) with Polish subtitles & dubbing, that helps a lot too.

I think the best way to learn is just to find some polish friends and after just try to spend with them as much time as u can. Go for a beer - this is very good way to learn :-), go for a walk, cinema. That's how I’ve learnt English. Maybe my grammar is not perfect but I can speak very well. I can help with polish if someone wants to?

Czesc im enjoyed reading on how other people have learnt or are trying to learn Polish.Ive been with my Polish girlfiend for over 3years and have tried all sorts of methods of learning from books Cd's polish tv and numerous holidays with her family and her none her family speak English apart from her sister and her boyfriend so I have found a good way to learn was be thrown in the deep end.I still get post it notes on items round the house in Polish to remind me.I think unless you use it on a regular basis it is very hard.Oh im still learning but im must say my the best word has to be Przyczepa kemingowa. And NEVER play a Pole at scrabble you have been warned!

if you’d like to learn polish I think I can help you … I just started an adventure with a website myngle…
if you are interested sign up as a student and find Aryjka in teachers section or contact me by e-mail: magdastefanowicz@yahoo.ca…
I am starting teaching using myngle service and it’s really amazing! you’ll be thought using power point slides show, sharing a whiteboard and other tools. All you need is to have a skype account but if you don’t have it , don’t worry , there are other possibilities to communicate … it is not very expensive and gives you freedom of choice .. you even don’t need to leave your home and you can use all advantages of online learning …

what do you think about this opportunity?

Hi Guys, I have just joined as a new member to this forum although I have been reading it ever since I started learning about two months ago. I have found so many of the posts to be helpful, so thanks for that everyone. I have been using the first 10 lessons of unit one pimsleur which I was able to get as a download for £15.00. Trouble is that the rest of the course is a lot more expensive? I am a builder and caught up in the economic downturn, any suggestions on a less expensive method? I use Byki also and just about whatever I can find on u tube. A polish friend has just given me some music, how do you understand that??

Stardom, I just play the C.D's in the car wherever I go. Even if you are distracted and not listening it does go in.

I find that I can remember when I practice alone but then as soon as I go to use it, that is talk to a polish person, I go blank! Anybody else get that?

I think if someone would like to learn polish, let's start with talking a polish person via internet, i just started like that and i started with "yes" "no" in polish.. ("tak" "nie") i really used google for talking with polish people in chat, for example they have a page like czat pl just go there and try to talk, start with so easy things.. just write and think to pronouncation after you did somethings in writing..

After i have passed 2 months i really talk some polish right now but surely it also depends on your love and interested in polish language.

I hope and I wish all the best for All..

Bye.

Cześć, pochodzę z Polski!
I didn't know that there is so many people who want to learn polish. One of the easiers way to learn polish is to find beautiful girlfriend. ;] But if you have got one already and she is not polish i think that you need to find some polish friends even via internet. xdd Books can't teach you the real polish. You have to communicate with polish-speakers... Believe me- there is so many people in poland who want to (learn) improve their english but they haven't got enough money etc. And don't be shy.. ;) I was and i am still shy when i tried to speak English and it takes me a lot of time to learn. I think that this forum could be a good idea for you to improve your polish. :] It is true that polish, czech, ukrainian and lithuanian sometimes look or sound very similarly because they are all come from slovenian. (I hope that I'm right)

Best wishes.. ;P
