Z kim sie zadajesz, takim sie stajesz
'You become whom you befreind'
Could this be taken the wrong way by a Polish girl if I write it in her birthday card?
To me it sounds like a compliment in translation, I only know basic Polish, however it may sound like a insult or even a rude remark in translation to someone who speaks Polish
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
The general idea is "Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas". It's not usually positive, in any case, and will be taken "the wrong way" cause confusion without further context or explanation. Definitely not appropriate for a birthday card.
