Sounds practically like the differences between Latin American and Old World Spanish.

Another interesting inconsistency is the word
"żaden" - noone, none in Polish
and "greedy", "stingy" in Russian

haha, a clasic one from Czech language:
Polish >>> Czech meaning

mieszkac (live), mieszkanie (place to live, flat) >>> look for
szukac (look for) >>> fu** (yeas, the everknown swear word :)

szukam mieszkania - looking for a flat in Polish
very similar to:
mieszkam szukania - looking for a fu** in Czech

The "I can speak Polish therefore I can easily understand Czech" myth will never end on PF. I'm sure that someone will be along to say "hodovla divek" in a minute :D

All humans share 99.9% of their DNA. With mice, we share 98%; 35% with algae and 11% with yeast.

Judging by some recent posts/new members (or should that be "new" members ;) ) on here, some people share a little too much DNA with plankton :D

Ha ha no, I meant it real human DNA halpogroups. Closest to Poles are Russians, then Belorussians and Czechs.
