Hello

Does anyone know of a downloadable file (Word or PDF, . . .) containing a collection of reading passages in Polish (for improving Polish)? It would be perfect if it has meaning of difficult vocabulary in English. (I need something for advanced level, like the level for reading and understanding news, newspapers, . . .)

Thanks.

I need something for advanced level, like the level for reading and understanding news, newspapers

You could try the online Polish newspapers
onlinenewspapers.com/poland.htm

You could copy and paste the text into a word document.

Thank you. But I'd like something that would have an educational purpose because in this case, all passages follow a cohesive and meaningful end. But when one is going to come across a news site, one doesn't know what article, or passage, or news should read, and in this case, one's vocabulary doesn't improve systematically, and one can't review past language knowledge.

This might point you in the right direction: polishforums.com/general-language-17/collection-learning-resources-learning-polish-language-31442/ - Collection of learning resources for learning the Polish language.

Like this?

Oh my! No, I never like grzegorj's site! It teaches grammar! (but in a horrible way!) BUT I said: I want something in a PASSAGE format :( It means I want to READ, READ, READ . . . the news sites that you sent were great! But one gets lost in the abundance of texts, . . . is there an ebook to contain selected texts :( . . . .

I'm sorry, but your thinking is totally backwards. You should start reading random texts (articles, short stories and novels) written in ordinary language as soon as possible, so that you get acquainted with actually used vocabulary and phrases.

There's some great computer software to review your previously studied material, Supermemo is pretty nice.

myjustyna, although I'm against piracy myself, I'll tell you what people do here. They register to chomikuj.pl then google out a title of a novel by "title chomik" phrase and and then download a DOC or PDF from the Chomik ;-)

I would say read what you are interested in, check a few words in the dictionary every time, soon you will be able to read about the topic that you are interested in. Of course learn a little grammar etc. from a textbook etc.

What would you like to read about?

Polish to English Bilingual Material?

Hi there, does anybody know any good Polish to English Bilingual sources? I mean books or Pdf's online? I am now at the stage where I want to be reading Polish but would like to have the English translation available also. I do hear from language learners that reading Bilingual material side by side is one very good way of learning a language.

Any help would be great.
