Britians smoking ban was put in place so that people who don't smoke, don't have to breath it in. When you smoke, it affects the people around you aswell.

I don't see poland as a 3rd world country. Hardly a country filled with poviety, disease and lack of education.

Damn, I nearly had a heart attack when I thought the average was 1000 euro's a year. My family usually spends close to 4000 on a two week holiday once a year in somewhere like turkey.

Thats what it's like in england, anyone who hasn't lived here and was born here is like an alien to most british people... rediculous how people don't realise that it's possible to move. Narrow minded people.

So the guy made a mistake, but if he doesnt know how to rectify it, then thats where a different opinion is going to help him most.

Personally wouldn't go for the long vacation thing, because she might see it as you trying to trick her into going and not letting her get back to poland.

If she doesn't know what the UK is like, then she's bound to be scared of going. Taking her on holiday there for 2 or 3 weeks might be better than the long vacation thing. Show her what britian is like and she might open up abit more to the idea.
